Ericq Pierre, whom I've never heard of before, is obviously the wrong choice if for no other reasons than the following:
1. His defense in criticizing those who voted against him was to say that they are corrupt. Granted, many of them may be, but this is not an attitude conducive to collaborating with the politicians whose ranks he sought to join. Meanwhile Mr. Pierre steadfastly refused to address his citizenship. Of course no one denies he is "Haitian by origin". The question is, does he now hold American, or other, citizenship. 2. Mr. Pierre previously backed measures that in the short term would have dismantled the governmental structure in Haiti, in order to make way for privatization. Wherever these massive privatization measures have been tried before (Bolivia, Nigeria, Venezuela, Russia, etc), no capitalist system was created. Rather, a few wealthy people became the beneficiaries of what were previously state assets. In the absence of a functioning government, or one that has few assets to leverage in order to fund public projects, you have nothing but a banana republic, where the elites feed at the trough at the populations' expense. |

#1. THEY ARE ALL CORRUPT. BELIEVE IT! #2. HE IS HAITIAN, IF THOSE LAWMAKERS HAD A BIT OF INTELLIGENCE THEY WOULD OF CAME UP WITH A DIFFERENT REASON. #3 PRIVATIZATION? YES! WE NEED IT, PLEASE DO AND IF POSSIBLE DO DISMANTLE THE NON-EXISTING GOVT. |

1 ALL OF THEM are corrupt. The usual game is as follows: Prime minister to be meets with said groups. Groups demand for key posts in ministries, and other govt cash cows. Once guarantees are given, then person becomes P M. Pierre had enough BALLS to stand up and say NO to "usual business", and then came his demise. F_CK all deputes and senators. F_ck corruption. It's time we realize this is what has been holding us back for 200+ years. << and to all those tempted to respond that corruption is everywhere --> I DON'T CARE!!! Haiti is my country, and that is what we are discussing right now>> Too much corruption leads to what we have right now in Haiti. It's gotta be reduced or eliminated PERIOD |

Ericq Pierre is my cousin. Ericq is not lying. Some deputies are corrupted. Ericq told me that they wanted money and fill positions for the relatives and friends. They would steal international aid money meant for projects for Haiti to fill their pockets. These people do not care about their country. Only themselves. They are not ashame that the Dominican Republic on the same land are way ahead of us. Ericq loves Haiti and wanted to see the country progress. I agree with activist Greg Peters on his white paper on How to Fix Haiti in 90 Days which can be read on the blog of prevalhaiti.com . Ericq was going to implement some Mr. Peters ideas get Haiti moving forward.

Thanks for the info Haiti needs people with integrity and courage(if any can still be found today). That's what happens when you put uneducated or "aigri" people in positions of power. I will check out the blog.. |

To HaitianAmerian:
Privatization is a good idea for a country with terminal cancer like Haiti. Bandages are not enough at this point. Haiti is a basket case. Too many people are corrupted. I am not saying that the U.S. or other developed countries are not corrupted. They are. Say for example in the U.S., they government receives 100 million dollars for a project. They may steal 10 million but the project will get done. In Haiti you give the government 100 million, they will steal 110 million!!! And, that is the truth! Haiti will never progress with people like that. Dominican Republic are building a metro/subway in Santo Domingo. We cannot even have decent roads! Ericq was right when he said that some deputies are not educated and corrupted. |
