Perhaps the stockholders and shareholders should have voted for some increased security funding, including shredders, instead of for the package that lined the top guns and their families' pockets with cash.

Such greed at the top of People's Bank! Where is david Carsen?

Seems like since People's went public, they have turned into a nickle and dime outfit, charging whatever fees they can and cutting corners on privacy issues and others. Their tellers are 20 watt!!
NOT TOO BRIGHT !!

We all seem to fail to forget what People's United is all about !!! Yes, they have had some incidents, but most importantly...we should be grateful to have such a great community bank in the State. The question we should be asking ourselves is "How many lives do People's United touch throw all they community service?" I think that's the most important fact, specially in today's society.

****Peoples United Bank employees should also be held responsible for being nosey. They have access to all our information and how much we have in our accounts. That information should be limited to employees, esp if they are not in the branches.
Why are people always looking one another up...fire them

Not to defend the bank, but the information that James hastings obtaines also included transation receipts that the customers thew away themselves, so if you're going to blame anyone, you have to look at a bigger picture, not only what you read from one source. CT Post has a reputation of not liking People's Bank in the first place, and some of the articles are based on opinions and not true facts.

Take off your blinders JMJ. Transaction receipts don't have social security numbers on them.

The law firm is in it to make money for themselves. They don't care about anyone but shaking down the bank to line their greedy pockets. In the end, if settled, customers would receive $1.10 and the lawyers will get millions. Let's talk about the injustice of that!

My health insurance has been terminated because of Peoples United Bank.

Peoples United Bill Pay misdirected checks intended for my COBRA health insurance payments. I was not notified. Found out, phoned in a payment. Peoples did not honor. Peoples said the party that got the check in error did not pay it back in time to cover payment.
Two checks sent to my attorney were "returned" to Peoples according to a customer service message hidden under several tabs on my online account. The money was returned to my account more than a week and a half later. The attorney said he never got the checks.
Please check your online account and make sure that bills are paid thru bill payer. Peoples changed my records to make it appear to be my fault (you typed the wrong name, you sent to CT instead of TX). No. I am a computer professional with time stamped copies of all of my transactions. Peoples is lying to cover themselves.

People's bank ALWAYS has a 20 minute waiting line of customers. Does anyone want to wait 20 minutes to get to a teller? Any bank that lets a situation like that occur is obviously a poorly managed bank.

Peoples United had another "breach" a few years ago (not sure of how long ago...) when they said that the Federal Express Truck which transported our records from the Brookside Branch to the new branch building about ten city blocks down on Main Street, Bridgeport! They offered the same thing - one year of monitoring with Equifax and that was it - now another breach! That's not acceptable! I'm convinced to get out of Peoples United Bank now!!!

Re: Post by "Pat".. I am a 25 yr Peoples customer. I was on that list too, JUST 2 YRS AGO & Peoples apparently hasn't learned ANYTHING from that. Also, the letter was exactly the same except they chose a different credit monitoring service. They should be offering lifetime credit monitoring, especially for us "repeat" customers. They were lucky to keep us the first time. Between that & other serious "mistakes" and simply inept customer service I have personally encountered by Peoples, I am all for the class action. Also, I'm not buying the "truck " story this time around. What are their lawyers going to tell us next time ?

Re: Post by "PEOPLES BILL PAYER" I've had that happen to me too. Check never made it to payee. It was for a phone bill. Never had a problem with this before & all of a sudden I discovered that my account # was changed.( they use your phone #) I've had the same phone number for years & didn't go into my acct to change it. They also opened a checking line of credit w/o my knowledge & were having a hay day with that. It took me 5 phone calls & 2 visits to a branch Mgr to get it closed. I had a revolving line of credit that was causing all of my checks to bounce. I do all my banking online & over the phone, I always have plenty of money in my account so I couldn;t understand why I was bouncing checks. It took me a while to discover it. That cost me a pretty penny. This information was not provided online or thru their phone system. I actually made a branch Mgr personally sign a letter stating that they would cancel the line of credit they added to my acct & that they would not add a new one w/o my signature. I also lambasted him about how the information was hidden from me since it did not appear on my online account & was not presented to me thru the phone auto system. That's how bad it was. next time I went to that branch, he was no longer there.( quit?/fired ?) THAT should have been a lawsuit ! Make sure you ANALYZE your Peoples statment every month. Yes, Ihad tried other banks & found out they were even worse. I stay with Peoples only because they are open & available after work hours.
