After FPL had the nerve to surcharge users for not having and thus not using electricity during Wilma, I have made it my priority to our electrical footprint anywhere and anyway possible. We are slowly but surely replacing our old appliances and windows with energy efficient units. We only run the AC from June 1 until Oct 1, and even then, keep it set at 80 degrees. We make sure we shut off the lights and the fans when we leave the room. We turned down the thermastat on the water heater. We only wash laundry with cold water. We line dry our clothes when possible. We spend more evening time outside instead of watching TV. Our FPL bill was only $92 this month, for a standard sized 3-2 home. Try it, you might like it!

Asplundh Tree Trimming Company sucks! I am suing them for butchering my two 100 year old oak trees and then crushing a $2,500 rare Queen Emma Supreme bed of lillies. Clumsy idiots. I took plenty of video and snaps of the damage, got 4 witnesses to provide statements and printed out 3 signed estimates to replace the bunch of rare plants. Asplundh is owned by the Asplundh boys. I would say men... but have no b_____s. They let Liberty Mutual rape everyone that files a complaint and wanted to give me a piddly $130.00 for thousands of dollars damage. Fools now the boys will be sued by ME. Could have settled all of this nicely. Cheap ba____ards. Be warned when the trimmers say they are coming to trim be sitting there with your video camera and an officer of the law. New Mexico Power Company hired the rats.
