In raid on nest, man gets a shock
Twenty bucks. That's how much some local pet stores are willing to pay for a monk parakeet, those riotous, swift green and gray birds so prevalent in Broward County .

Lesson learned, don't climb trees trying to make a quick buck.

Bird brain.

Where in the article did it say anything about trees. The article was about the birds and this dumb idiot climbing a structure that has anywhere up to 325,000 volts running through it. That's just plain stupidity! This is what the high cost of gas/oil is bringing us to. He was just really lucky to be alive! These birds are a nuisance, why are we so worried about saving them? |
|
So? The price of oil almost got a guy killed? Interesting theory. |

Zapppppp..........
Now it has fried the last brain cell in that head of his.......... Too bad he did not die in the process of earning his daily drug money. No great loss to society if he had.......... |

Moral of the story is don't put all your eggs in one basket case

Property was fenced off for a reason. Everyone needs to make a buck, but you don't do it invading private property.

Great. Now that a black market price has been established every desperate freak will be scaling power poles for birds.
|

How do these people know where to look for these nests, for what I understand, these birds are not too common. Also, why not spend the 50 bucks for a license and avoid problems selling the eggs and a $500 fine. I guess this fellow was not too bright.

Anyone who will climb ANYTHING within "touching distance" of lethal high-voltage equipment needs to be removed from the gene pool.

Shocking! He got what he deserved. Too bad he didnt die trying to steal the birds.

What a shockingly fowl story. How is this newsworthy?
|
If he did trespass on private property and got zapped, sorry to burst your bubble, but that does deserve a good laugh. Desperation does not give anyone the right to break laws. By that reasoning, I guess you think robbing someone is ok because the robber is desperate. Does he have a job besides this or is this his only source of income? |

talk about flipping the bird, lol.

Should'a bought the license. Could'a sold legit birds and lived happily ever after.

He'll be the nicest Darwin award nominee ever. |
