Last week, Google gave frustrated webmasters a place to complain if they felt they were unjustly hit by the Penguin update.

One of my old, useless, never SEO'd websites moved from #8 to #2 after the penguin update. Penguin penalizes for low quality backlinks. I had no backlinks at all. What Google failed to recognize was that my content was 6 years old and already obsolete. Not really a great update for my particular vertical.
