Sexton Dental Clinic faces lawsuit from patient

Any one who has had Dr. Scott at the Sexton Dential Clinic please let me know what kind of experience u have had has anyone had a good experience? all i have read is really bad and i am suppose to see him on the 17 th of this month.

i seen dr. scott in october. had 9 teeth pulled & he did a wonderful job.the thing about most of his haters is they were scared when they 1st went there, & probably had so rotten teeth they had to dig them out.

I have been to Sexton and Dr. Scott pulled my teeth without problem. At Sexton they just don't have the time to spend chatting up the patients but I did not find anyone there rude or inconsiderate. As for dentures not fitting properly - my new upper denture and lower partial (both done here in Florida) have needed adjustments. If Sexton wasn't so far away or if I had someone to travel with me - I would have returned to Sexton - but again - when adjustments are needed - it's not like going across town to get the job done.

I traveled to Florence via airline in 2003, had a full upper and a partial bottom denture made. Best fit I ever had. Never needed any denture addisive to hold teeth in place. Plan on returning this year for implants. They do very good work there. Keep it up. Thanks

I went to the Sexton dental clinic in Florence South Carolina last week. I had read all the horror stories about them and was scared to death, but due to finanaces could not afford to go to my dentist. To make a long story short i got excellent service from beginning to end. My doctors name was Dr. Hector and he was wonderful, patient and kind, also there were three other people getting their dentures also .They had the doctor that everyone says bad things about Dr. Scott well they were very pleased with him also said he was kind and friendly. I had twelve teeth removed and new top dentures, they look great and other than being a little sore i am fine and have beautiful teeth now. I am very happy. Don't believe all the junk you hear on here it is not true . I think they just make up all that stuff to scare people. So if you need dental work go there, on top of everything else i paid about $600 for every thing, it was going to cost me almost $3000 at my dentist i will always go to sextons from now on.

oh wow, that makes alot of sense bcuz every female's post is awful but coming from a man these people love him, but i need to have more than 20 teeth pulled for uppers & lowers after reading these posts, with my xteme fear of dentists i'm more than scared 2 death but i don't have a choice, i want a pretty smile again but once again by the posts i hope the teeth i get are good, bcuz i will sue if i have come out me pocket with $1500 or more with absolute total dis satisfaction, bcuz in this day & time, economy, people don't have money to throw away, hope my visit is a success

i'm so sorry that u think every1 is rich, lives on a high hill, looking down on less frotunate poeple who can't afford dental care, don't make enough money to pay dental insurance , much more for lights, car insurance, food, car notes, such, this is the way it is sometimes, y r u even on this site if u look down on us? u don't know people's situation, sometimes people have 2 get teeth pulled bcuz of hereditary conditions, medications they maybe on, other reasons so stop judging when u don't know what they no we r going thru

I've been going to Sexton Dental Clinic off and on since 1968 and have never encountered any problems with them. It's as if I'm reading about another clinic. My parents, other family members, went there for their extractions and dentures. My first dentures lasted for 20 yrs and I still keep them as a spare. Everyone was surprised my dentures lasted so long. I just thought it was time for new ones. I got the whitest ones and am absolutely satisfied with them. My sister in law went with me, got new top dentures, and she feels the same way. Everyone, every time I went, was very professional. I just want everyone to know my experiences were all favorable and I'm sorry some people had bad experiences.

My wife and I travel to a dentist in Mexico. Lower price and a lot nicer treatment. There they train their dentists and assistants NOT to hurt the patient and to be courteous.

I went about 1 month ago ,my teeth were loose and i got dentures AND EVERY THING COST A LITTLE UNDER $ 500 . I COULD NOT BE MORE SATISFIED MY TEETH ARE BEAUTIFUL i have never had pretty teeth until now and i am 64 years old . I go back in 2 months to get them relined ,no charge for it but u have to go back when they tell you or they won't do it. Everyone was very nice and professional and i had very little pain. i will go back and get them relined ,they told me they would be loose until then but they fit nice and tight now. I would go if i were u, you will be glad you did. maybe a few people have had bad experiences but i live about 40 min. from the clinic and know allot of people who have gotten their teeth their and i have never heard one of them complain, so i think allot of stuff u read on here is just people wanting attention. I had my uppers pulled a couple days ago.. OMG! I thought the Novocaine was going to kill me (of course something going into your sinus cavity isn't exactly comfy) but this wasn't the issue... the issue came when he started cracking my teeth. He was gouging my mouth with a tool as he goes "whoops" Out of 10 pulls I still have 2 teeth that are broken off inside. The immediate denture I got was supposed to be "the better one" however it doesn't fit my mouth AT ALL! The gum part has my lip raised so high I could wrap it around my head~ my denture teeth are sitting crooked and I really can't take the pain they are putting me in anymore. I want to literally throw up due to the thickness and the fact that they reach all the way to the back of my throat .... No stitches just a mouth cut wide open. For the price and compromise I guess it could be worth it if you don't care to ever speak again or eat.. but my money is still my money and I expect good service.. end of story

I went to Sexton Dental Clinic in Myrtle beach and the front staff was very nice. The girl who takes the impression of your teeth is the owners daughter - she has no training for the position and she is friendly but rough. The doctor is terrible. He doesn't listen to your concerns at all. I tried to ask him about a concern and he said no problem yeah... then, when all was said and done he was unable to extract my teeth. Sexton didn't refund my money on the dentures due to their "no refund" policy and told me that I need IV sedation which is much more expensive. I have had a lot of dental work done and have never needed IV sedation before - i don't believe them. Listen - I know that when you go to a clinic you aren't going to get the most gentle service but, you should have a compitent doctor and properly trained staff members. I saw many other people leave very happy so, there are success stories - just not mine. If you go here good luck.

I feel so sorry for dentists. They make 1/10 what they should really be making based on the stress and shit they have to deal with.

No way could I go into a profession where you have to play "professional" while someone looks you into the eye and the first thing out of their hateful mouths is "I hate dentists". I would knock the shit out of them if I were a dentist.

I just went there Thrusday 03-08-12. I had Dr. Scott. He made me feel the same way and did a terrible job numbing me. He has the bedside manner of a rattlesnake. What a jerk! Personally, I couldn't afford the price of other dentists, so I sucked it up. Boy, he is a "torturer" and doesn't care. When I told him I wasn't numb, he told me that I was just feeling pressure. I insisted I was hurting and he gave me more novicaine. He told me if I didn't quiet down he wouldn't pull my teeth. When he pulled my teeth, it still hurt terribly. After it was over, I went to the waiting area and cried for ten minutes because the pain was still excruciating. The overall experience of Sexton Dental Clinic was not like the expensive dentists I have seen before and is more like an assembly line. They treat a lot of people every day, but do produce a good end product. They didn't do a very good job aleviating my fear of the procedure and the discomfort form the extractions. I guess if you want to get treated like you are a human being and can afford it, then pay the high price at a regular dentist's office, otherwise, do what I did and suck it up. Their prices and end product are worth the time.
