I'm about to retire from the federal government and I may do some part-time software consulting after I retire. I don't have enough quarters for Social Security and I don't care to earn enough as it would reduce my federal retirement and due to the current laws, I would only draw about 1/3 of Social Security benefits.

My question is this: Could I set up an LLC and have all monies paid to it with my wife as president and thus pay taxes on the income through the LLC and not me?

I don't want to sound like I'm wanting to avoid paying taxes, because that is not my intent. I just don't want to jeopardize my retirement.

Thanks,
John
