Racism still bedeveils anyone anywhere as long there is a reward for keeping it alive. YOU decide what is a reward; sometimes it is nothing more than a TV spot or a faraway racist magazine.

Good point Dave!...I also found one of his points amusing because it proves Jay Z's point...he says "My President is black, in fact he's half white, so even in a racist mind he's half right, if you have a racist mind you'll be alright"...I feel sorry for people who go through life with all the hatred (not only towards minorities, but the poor), they must be pretty miserable if that's what they live their life for...If you took the time to help the unwealthy, you would see that it isn't just the people of color who need help, there are just as many caucasians like yourself..just because Obama finds it in his heart to help the lower class citizens doesn't mean he's a bad person..even though there are a handfull of people who do cheat the system, I don't mind a little more deducted from my paycheck to help someone else out...just sayin!

Paris Texas just happen to be in the window on this day. All you need to do in order to see if a community has racism in it is to listen closely to that community's public officials and look like a white person, because otherwise they will not let their guard down. But even a town where the officials sound like elitist by the use of words such as trash, low life, or scum. Chances are there is an even worse racial problem there. I live in Newton County Texas and even I hear the subtle racist style remarks being made by some of our most respected officials. The reason for the descrepency in racism between the races that seems to be because whites tend to act by planning and blacks are more impulsive to their actions. So! When some of you say that racism is more subtle than it used to be then you probably are right. Anger is the key cause for blacks acting more impulsively. The schools teach our children that race is no longer a facter, but our streets are a little grayer. And while I will not go as far as to say that our criminal justice system is even a little racist, I will say that more of our lawmen seem to be, and the most sad thing is that it seems to come from their leaders. But like all things the poor in the community are often more likely to be shortchanged by our justice system. This present day Voter ID bill is one example of this, and the other current example that really sticks out is the 911 addresses. Cr, or pvt for the poor in my county, and glover ave, and hickory hill drive for the areas where they hope to collect more tax money. No! I dare say! Paris Texas does not have a monopoly on Racism in East Texas. It's just a lot more subtle than it used to be and that tends to make it more difficult to stomp out. And just so you know I have seen some things in my life after they happened in the mid fifties and sixtys that you would not believe could have happened here and my parents said that they would never believed who did it and neither would anybody else. By the way I am an American.

Mayor Carrie Saxon Perry turned Hartford Connecticut into a ghost town and you talk about racism in Texas on this forum? You are ignorant.

Youve seen it. The citizens in Paris need to stop allowing people like you to pretend theres no racism against blacks in a small county town in the South. You all claimed you didn't see any racism at Turner Industries didn't you even though there were photos of it. You'd claim you didnt see any if you had a video to go along with the pictures. Have you suffered a lynching,Jim Crowe laws, profiling?
By the way most race related rapes and murders are acts of blacks upon white people so you got that one backwards. The reason police beatings are a problem for you is because you see only the black side. beatings should not be tolerated on any race.
The racist people in Paris are only 3 and you know who they are.
