Racism still bedevils Paris, Texas

There's racism in Paris Texas? Wow, who would've thought that.

So you Texans are DENYING that there is racism in Paris TX?

Chicago has been known for being the most segregated city in the US for a long time now. Mayor Daley is trying to break things up, but still the fact remains, many south side whites hate the blacks and vice versa. Things are getting better here, but still Chicago has a long way to go.

White flight is unfortunantly still very much alive here only today its more prevelant out in the burbs than anywhere else. The city has turned into more of a melting pot of everything, but the south burbs east of about Pulaski and south of about 115th Street are less white than they are black or mexican with the exception of Homewood/Flossmoor and South Holland, while west of Pulaski is mostly white. Now before I get jumped again by people saying I am saying that this means areas east of Pulaski are bad, I am not. I know many very nice black neighborhoods that are very safe and very prestigous (ie Olympia Fields, Glenwood, and Richton Park) White flight took over in those areas in the 1980s and changed them to mostly black neighborhoods, but those burbs are still very clean and safe. Some of the other neighborhoods around there though can be sketchy at best so be careful. But to answer your question, yes racism is still alive and well here among all races

Why would The Hartford Courant run this story from another paper? What is the purpose?

Anyone figure it out?

They need to do a story on the South Side of Chicago - Every city in America should strive to be like the South End! Its a safe progressive area with low crime and community spirit.

No we are not denying there is racism here. You people don't listen to reason. Racism exists everywhere. All this going on here is one woman stirring up trouble. A few years ago in California, a black female professor who was to speak about racism had her car vandalized with racist graffiti. She did it to herself. A black fraternity at LSU was claiming racial hatred against them a couple years ago. One of the brothers later was caught vandalizing his own frat with graffiti of the racial kind. Tawanaa Brawley claimed to be assaulted by racists - but she did it to herself. Not too long ago a reporter snuck into a private club where VP Cheney was visiting and snapped a pic of a confederate flag hanging in a garage. It has been discovered the reporter hung it there himself for a story. What about the black NY Times reporter who created false stories and was caught? A group of black firemen were caught hanging a noose to trump up charges of racism against white firemen. They got caught.

This is a poorly done noose in a very posed picture.

I seriously doubt you'll have to look much farther than the picture taker....

FBI crimes against persons stats show whites commit 3% of crimes against blacks. They also show blacks commit 59% of crimes against whites.

Gee I thought there was racism everywhere. I guess it's all in Paris Tx. Everyone should stay away from there. But really you should come unannounced and check it out. See for yourself. I think you would be surprised. If you showed up and didn't come with your back up and alot of people trying to start a fight I think you would love it in Paris. I don't think you see the real Paris if you come with people protesting.

You know what the purpose is.
This reporter has an agenda & it isn't unbiased reporting.
And by the way, I live in Chicago & there's racism here. Why point the finger at one group of people & not the other.

Isn't it time for the south to secede...after all we have an African American in the White House and somehow the good lawd hasn't called us all home yet.
