Somebody might want to check on D.R. Horton Co. They have been know to hire contractors to complete work on homes and then withold payments to those contractors once the contractors have billed the company. It has happened to a personal friend of mine, who lost his business because D.R. Horton refused to pay several thousands of dollars owed for work. It's any wonder they can build quality homes and sell them for cheap. The State of Texas should investigate this company. I'm glad New Jersey's carpenter's union is the first to file suit. More need to do the same.

These guy's do great work....But I also can understand when the worker are not documented..and they should be..Because they are taking income from workers that are documented and the Carpenters Union..This is an issue that the next president of the United State should fix..Get legal and go to work without any hassle..
NOTE: D R Horton are not the only builders that are doing this..put the other builders on notice...Centex, Rayland, Beazer,Pulte, Frist Texas Austin and Independent Home builders etc...

SAM 33 is also the problem os Labor Laws and Taxes. Horton chooses this contractors because Horton can make them work from sun up to sun down, Monday to Sunday without paying any overtime, sometimes even without getting pay or getting pay when they fill like(LABOR LAWS). Ovecourse because they are undocumented those worker DONT PAY TAXES (TAXES LAWS). This got nothing to do with be UNION or non Union. HORTON hire this scum contractor so TOGETHER they BRAKE LABOR LAWS, and TAXES LAWS and get away with it. GUESS WHAT? THEY GOT UUUUUUUUUU. Horton make the bed soooooooooo now Sleep on it.
Note:Deborah Martinez have ur friend contact the Local Carpenters Union. they may be able to help ur friend.

Its about damn time someone did something about the immigration issue. Its obvious that there are illegals throughout the construction industry, being a carpenter I see them every day. There are up to ten Hispanics to one social security number in some cases.(rumor) Can you imagine what the average american carpenter's wages would be with out the illegal immigrants?

.... They are illegal.. big frickin deal if they don't pay taxes, thats not the issue. They are here illegally, and by choice. Their quailty of work insults everything I work for every day. Their work is garbage. All of it.

David Pannell are u blind???? D R Horton choses this Contractors who brake all the State and Federal Laws, so he drive the labor prices down. In 2006, New Jersey audited 2.2 percent of its employers and found 25,000 workers who were misclassified -- resulting in nearly $16 million lost to a state unemployment fund. So David do you see something wrong???? NO? Stop kissing D R Horton's rear end, and see the intire picture. THIS IS COSTING AMERICANS JOGS.
NOTE: Everything is big in Texas so is it safe to say that YOU ARE A BIG IDIOT.
