Hewlett-Packard Co., the world's largest printer-maker, has asked Walgreen Co. and OfficeMax Inc.

HP would have a very difficult time proving that the refilled cartridges have ink that violates HP patents. I examined the machines at Walgreens and they do not remove the original HP ink from the cartridge during the refill process. Bottom line is that the HP ink remains mixed with the new ink and any informed court would doubt HPs claims.

WHATEVER PEOPLE. HP IS ANOTHER LG COMPANY TRYING INCREASE THEIR PROFITS BY SUING SOMEONE ELSE.

DENNY WORKS FOR HP, I KNOW THIS! WOW

Any company that is a leader in any market such as ink cartridges is going to protect their inventions. Saying they are just trying to make money suing someone is rediculous. Remember, companies are people, if they don't protect their intellectual rights and patents, not only the company loses, but the people that work for that company loses. Do you think Coca Cola would accept you taking their bottles and refilling them with someone else's soda?

At office max the ink refill machine exhausts the ink from the cartridge that is going to be refilled down to a specified weight then refills it but not always with the same amount usually less most of the time you cant get the print head fully unclogged but the managers are under orders from there district managers to sell so many a day or else so the poor customer goes home with a cartridge that is not fully filled at wont in some cases print with out leaving lines the whole machine is the biggest waste of time for employees and customer OH YA office max uses the same ink for all HP and LEXMARK and DELL cartridges black or color it has made more angry customers and employees then anything

The ink machine at Walgreens drains all of the old ink out and then fills it completly with new ink. The cartritge is subject to printing and electrical tests, if it does not pass, then the customer is not charged.

Meh, done the ink refill thing. I don't send 'em home with anything that doesn't work, and I've never been asked to. Don't know exactly where you get your info from. I have a harder time with actually selling anything due to constant unrelenting stock issues. |

"Denny Eyberg" - in sales, huh? so obvious and stupif you hav to be in sales!
|
|
|
DENNY - you must be in sales as your ignorance is obvious!

Hi all!! From what i understand the refill machine has been pulled from officemax due to service issues. If possible could you elaborate on this ie stock problems ease of use etc. Also have office max got another company in to supply similar machines many thanks....

OH MY!!!!!!!!!!I have a solution.....stop printing all of you're kiddie porn on photo quality paper, and you won't use as much ink per print thus lengthening the time between refills. And the only DNA in or on the HP ink cartridge is that guys baby batter after viewing men with mules.... |

When did american forget freedom of choices. If, I want to save money I will refill my ink. The quilty is going to be way less then hp. But, I am saving a lot of greens some time as much as 70%. You get what you pay but you always have a choice. That's what makes our country so great. Hp should toss in cheaper and less quilty ink as a second opions to the more costly one. They have the power to make cheaper goods they just get too greedy. Just, imagine if you could only put in shell gas in your car.

ARE MOST OF YOU NOT AWARE THAT 70% OF ALL HP PRODUCTS, INCLUDING TONER CARTRIDGES AND INKJETS ARE REMANUFACTURED!? WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ASK YOU TO RETURN THEIR CARTRIDGES TO THEM....OUT OF KINDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS SO THEY CAN THROW THEM AWAY FOR YOU? WAKE UP! ARE YOU ALSO NOT AWARE THAT THEIR "HIGH YIELD" INKJET CARTRIDGES ARE NOTHING MORE THAN THE SAME CARTRIDGE THAT CONTAINS LESS INK...THE SAME CONFIGURATION...IT HAS TO BE IN ORDER TO FIT THE MACHINE! THEY SELL YOU A FEW MILILITERS MORE OF INK, CALL IT "HIGH YIELD" AND MAKE MORE MONEY THAN GOD! YOU THINK GASOLINE IS EXPENSIVE?

this reminds me of when i used to work at an electronics store. people would bitch and moan about their $20 dvd player that conveniently broke after the 90 day warranty. Didn't you decline the extended warranty? What did you expect from a dvd player with only a 90 day warranty, ten years of problem free usage? And the damn thing was only 20 bucks!!
I happen to use an epson printer, and when i want my prints to look their best, those generic cheapie carts just wont cut it. i know because i tried them. You are stupid to expect the highest quality for somehing purchased for mere pennies. don't blame the stores for offering a service for the money-minders either. |

Your an idiot. HP does not refill ink cartridges. They never have and never will. In fact when manufacturing pen heads they don't even rework rejects on the line because of possible quality issues. The quality of the ink that refillers use is not very good. Hence the pen head clogs and prints fade or do not look as well immediately after printing. You get what you pay for.

Everyone should give remanufactured inkjet and laser cartridges a try. If you dont try them how will you know if they don't work.
