Thank goodness for convergys flooding. It's ironic to see how the bonuses and pay raises that were taken away for computers are now literally under water.

How about the hundreds of employees that have literally been threatened with unemployment if they discuss their displeasure with Convergys via public social networking. These employees are not currently being paid and yet Convergys has the gall to tell them what they are allowed to post on the internet. I'm not an employee but I am friends with dozens. Convergys employees in Clarksville, TN do not currently know whether they are unemployed or not. The Alert 41 system that David Lovely said "will answer all questions" answers NOTHING. When the employees reach out to their direct supervisors to ask if they still have a job, their supervisors are responding that they are not authorized to tell them that! THIS IS HOW CONVERGYS RUNS! They are thieves and crooks! They will only hire back as many employees as they will need in order to receive federal funding, mark my words.

We are thinking about moving to Clarksville - has the clean up started? My husband works at another Convergys and was looking to transfer... according to the intranet at Convergys, Clarksville is hiring again... has it reopened?

As someone who spent several years with CVG in senior management, it is unfortunately not at all surprising that the company is dealing with their Clarkville employees so coldly. This is not an organization that cares for its employees. Fortunately, it appears that CVG's dishonest dealings are catching up with them. They are an abysmal organization headed towards a bad end.

No employee lost any pay raises or bonuses to get new computers in the building. I would caution you against posting false information in an open forum.

As for hiring, I believe not until November but you are more than welcome to stop on by.

I have found Convergys not to fulfill what they say when they hire people and their interpretations of certain policies leave nothing positive for you. Like many other businesses, they are more concerned of the stockholders than employees, and the turnover rate is terrible. I have never been more than thankful to be out, as I never heard good reports from others who worked there. Even earning some PTO was thrown out because I was not there 90 days. I made fun of myself and was written up for zero tolerance. Go figure. I would rather work in a place where you can feel respected while doing your job. Convergys is in such fear of their contractors that they will do anything to show somebody is not doing their job, regardless of the fact you helped out their customers by solving their problem. 2 calls out of 800 were bad, enough to fire you. Even when customers are calling you idiots and demand you fix the problem, when only a technician can. Convergys will not back you up. THey will just hire a few more on the treadmill. Don't bother, unless you have a high tolerance for BS.

If you hear something bad about Convergys...it's most likely true. I worked there 10+ years ago at the now defunct Toledo, OH call center. I worked there for one miserable year. Never in my life have I seen such a toxic company that acted so unethically towards employees and their client's customers. Never in my life have I seen a company ignore HR laws and have disregard for contract law. Never have I seen such a socially irresponsible company. They came to the area promising to hire 1,000+ employees at wages above living wage that offered benefits in exchange for tax abatements and government subsidies. True, they hired 1,000+ employees, but with a annual turnover rate coupled with perpetual understaffing (at the time they closed, they only had 500 employees), I don't see what good it brought to the area. What good are the wages when benefits are expensive and cover practically nothing and call center directors keep lowering starting wages constantly? They said there was room for advancement....true, if you were an a** kisser or an outright corrupt a** hole (preferably a Bernie Madoff or Ken Lay type). Never have I seen management commit unethical and unprofessional acts (i.e., sexual harassment, shorting employees paychecks, bullying, lying, etc.). Or what about the government money that they accepted for training? They would hold a training session. During the session, they would tell you that call volume is too high and get back to work. They would tell you to "learn it on your own" and remind you to sign in (so that they can report the so called "session" to the government for that subsidy (and we don't know where the money went). Good, honest employees were run out of there while the incompetent and or unethical rose to the top. The center closed less than four years after it opened (conveniently right before the tax abatements and the subsidies expired). Convergys did not provide any of the promised economic benefits to the area. Convergys was never held accountable for its actions. Why? Because many politicians received campaign contributions from them and all others were afraid to go after them. Convergys is nothing more a vampire that enters desperate communities (i.e., college towns or economically-challenged communities with high unemployment rates). As soon as the tax breaks expire and the subsidies stop, they close. If Convergys is in your community (or is coming to your community), HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.

That means you can be terminated at any time, for any reason, without being told why. I will say that if you got fired there was a reason and it was not because the company didn't want to pay you $9.00 per hour. I bet if I knew who you were and looked at your attendance and/or stats for the last 90 days I would see the reason you got fired.
