I agree...don't blame Rutgers...but who should be blamed in this situation? Now, it comes out to be that it would be legal for one consenting party to videotape themselves with another person, so that it does not constitute a crime in some countries if you do so...the fact that this videotape found itself on the internet may be no fault of the other consenting party of this sexual escapade (so may be that other party's defense...). So that means, someone took that tape and streamed it on the internet, for everyone to view and positively identify the victim in the tape. It would be the position of ignorant and apathetic gay Americans, that think that they are living in a gay mecca, that this man's death had nothing to do with homophobia and hate. I guess this could not be the fact if a case of homophobia exists in America, because gay relationships are seen as acceptable in America, right? This is why gays are allowed to marry in America, right? Oh no...that isn't the case? I see...but they teach children and adolescents about having sex with same sex partners in conjunction with teaching children and adolescents about safe sex practices, correct? Oh no...I'm wrong again? Wait...the government has a responsibility in America to uphold civil rights for every individual, whether it is in relation to race, religion, gender, age, sexual preference, and whatever else have you in this situation, so there should be automatic rights afforded to gays in America as they are afforded to other individuals in relation to their race, religion, age, gender, etc., right? Oops...that's NOT the case? I'm so surprised, America...so how do you determine how gays are to be recognized as equals in your country? You leave it up to majority rule votes? Okay...so then that means that gays will be recognized as equals all over the country, based on majority rule votes, because homophobia, hatred and acts of discrimination and violence do not occur against gays in America, right? Gays in America are not being intimidated, beaten, exiled and killed by the thousands there every year, correct? The justice system works for gays in America, right? I'm wrong on all counts here? You got to be joking me, America...why am I wrong about your tolerance and acceptance of gays in your country, America? Is it because there are MANY people in America that do NOT want to see gays have the same rights as they have, and are willing to draw themselves from their everyday affairs to vote against extending equal rights to gays in America? Acts of hatred (such as voting against affording equal rights to gay Americans as a PERFECT example), discrimination, and violence happen against gay Americans every day in America? You don't say, America...I am SHOCKED! And Uncle Sam has not stepped in for these gay Americans, of whom pay their taxes (hopefully) to Uncle Sam and rely on his protection and his divine intervention to keep good old America free for all, and free of discrimination? I guess this is because Uncle Sam is taking an isolationist stance on this issue, much like almost all issues Uncle Sam and cowardly Americans have taken across the world! So what you are telling me now, is that gays have to fend for themselves, in a hostile and intolerant country, that we know as America, in order for them to get equal rights? That is ABSURD, America! You have people that are not gay that are voting to deny equal rights to gay Americans (unless people want us to believe that gays are voting against gays getting equal rights, and maybe further want us to believe that gays are the MAJORITY in America also...LOL! Is that the real case, gay people in America?). Gays in U.S.A., can you say that America is treating you as equal Americans, yes or no?

Hurricanes dont come this far south but the weather systems have dumped too much rain and caused flooding.Trinidad has the 2nd highest gay n out population to Puerto Rico , in fact there are 2 open gay bars in POS , its no secret. No one has a probem here. Also most of our married men are bi |

I'm not even going to argue mitch's claims, BobM...are you Trini? I don't have the slightest clue, but I'm not messing with a Trini anyway...I got my Jamaican girl, and that's good enough for me...I say to you Trinis...TO EACH THEIR OWN! |

Illiterate? Tell one positive contribution that Trinidad has made to the world. ONE? With all your oil and booming economy, people still ask where in Jamaica do you find Trinidad? I have been there and believe the place stinks. sections of St James, Laventille, San fernando where more flies in the bar the customers. Jamaica is the capital of the Caribbean. You mimic us in every way. Who in the world knows about the monkey music soca? Everybody knows Reggae, Marley, Peter Tosh, Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Merlene Ottey, Marcus Garvey, Mary Seacole, Dustin Brown, Lewis Hamilton of Motor racing fame, the Bobsleigh team. We have created history time and time again. Trinidad's only claim to fame is Dwight Yorke and Brian Lara..two people who don't turn heads anymore. Reggae shows do very well in trinidad saw the trinis come out to full the queens park savannah for artiste we see everyday in Jamaica. As the Buju say "BOOM BYE BYE" |

Forget mitra...he is a delusional fool...he seems to think that Trinidad OWNS their resources, but lo and behold, Trinidad does not own any of their own resources, because Trinidad owes so much money to England and other countries, that Trinidad has to give up the rights to their resources to foreign countries and companies. Trinidad does not have oil...Britain does...Trinidadians did not build up Trinidad in order for Trinidad to look better than it was before foreigners came there...it was foreigners that came to Trinidad and built up Trinidad, so that they could stand living there, and not live in a filthy slum as they referred to islands in the Caribbean before they arrived...Jamaica has called out oppressing countries to admit their embarrassing roles in the slave trade and the continued exploitation of third world countries, which countries like England have recently apologized for, plus Jamaica has fought to keep foreign countries from infiltrating their country and exploiting their resources, like Trinidad has allowed foreigners to do in their country. Ask mitra to show how many residents of Trinidad own their own businesses, hotels and what not in Trinidad...the numbers will be VERY low...way to turn your country into a tourist hub for foreigners where your own residents are not welcome to the party, Trinidad...let those foreign countries continue to exploit you and dilute your identity...Jamaica will fight to keep their identity, thank you! |

Hey all I'm saying is we are open minded down here , all are free to practice whatever sexual choice they wish. There are to date two open and very popular gay bars in POS frequented by a lot of straight folk , Im only indicating the level of open mindedness we have here. BTW just go chaguanas and especially San Juan and see how many locals own their own businesses. Also we welcome 1st world thinking.I also happen to know for a fact that in the private sector , a gay man will almost at all times(even in Jamaica in the higher brackets) get the job over a straight guy or a young woman.

There is a terrific new article out about homophobia in Jamaica. The title of the article is "Murder Music." The article is published online by Guernica Magazine in its December 2010 edition. It is by Ilan Greenberg.
You can read "Murder Music" at http://bit.ly/gjX4Iu You will find it worthwhile to also read "Homophobia in Jamaica and 'Murder Music'" at http://bit.ly/hY59B2 |

Nice to know that you are saying that, mitch, but what you are NOT wrapping your head around is that in all this bashing of Jamaica, of which MOST of it is exaggerated and unwarranted, the image spills over to other countries, just like YOUR wonderful and tolerable country, Trinidad and Tobago. Some would see your comments as facetious and unacceptable, considering that I recently read an article boasting about the gay intolerance that exists in Trinidad and Tobago, and how countries like Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean have failed to this day to abandon sodomy laws that have not been repealed in Jamaica either, that gay right activists will say are only there to target gay people, NOT to deter rapists from raping their victims! |
|
Ok we Jamaicans DO NOT WANT TO ACCEPT GAY life or way of living here. America,Canada and all the rest of the world,we simply don't want this and don't try to put that on us cause that will ever never happen ok.you all keep that to you all self.In jamaica we are all about family a man and a woman who live and have kids.

I think that I applaud all my Jamican brothers about their stand on homoxuality.I don't want to see no one hurt about their sexual preference, but I think it's immoral for two men to have sex,god have created men with women not men with men.The european want to put every gabage in the black culture we were not tht way in africa. As Haitian I sincerely applaud true love for my Jamaican broters and sisters Jamaica is your country don't let the european and the americans how to run your

ryira, you are full of it, though you probably seek out men that have children with multiple children...you sure you not on the downlow? LOL! You have a LOT of beliefs, wonders, and you seem to hear about how a LOT of people you envy are buying homosexual videos and attending homosexual venues and shows, though that don't mean sh!t, ryira, and that don't mean that because you heard something, that it is fact! I believe that you are a homofanatic, and that you wish that you were able to burst in on this action that you are obsessed with, so that you could dive right in and become part of the action. Look, ryira...that's on you, and if you want to do that, and the other parties are OF AGE, and WILLING, then knock yourself out, man! I should caution you though that if you look to participate in these type of homosexual activities in AMERICA, don't be fooled by the acceptance of this behaviour there, yo. It would be my belief that most gays in America are trying to fight for equal rights throughout each state in America, while in the states that they are not granted equal rights, they have to hide (however, it is easier to hide and remain in exile in America, as there is more land space then there is in Jamaica, huh ryira?)! When it comes to tolerance, ryira, who are you to deem where you are as more receptive to gays than Jamaica is, when there are gays being victimized, like poor Tyler Clementi, and so many other gay Americans, that have either killed themselves, have been beaten half to death, or have been killed themselves by other American bigots? While you are in denial, I suggest you take a look at this article, where this pastor makes the suggestion on how parents should treat their children if they have any inclinations that their children may be exhibiting any sort of 'gay' behaviour, kid! Sounds REAL acceptable to me, ryira...wonder how many bisexuals are living in America right now on the downlow...probably tens of millions would be my guess. Have America lead by example, and the rest of the world may follow, ryira...you can't expect others to do what you are not prepared to do yourself, man! http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/Pastor--T... |

What you SHOULD be saying is "Please stop promoting hatred and violence against our minority groups and our children in AMERICA" Tom...the message doesn't go far abroad, if the problem isn't rectified at home, does it, hypocrite? This is where your 'message' is failing, Tom, because Americans say one thing, but their actions clearly stand to say that they adhere to another medium! You are losing right now, Tom...too bad you and your bigoted friends don't see this. Either you can unite with persons that are trying to help minority groups in Jamaica to protect them, or you can continue to attack Jamaicans and further alienate them, which in the process, will also leave the Jamaican minority alienated also! When it seems that it is acceptable for pastors, politicians, teachers, neighbours and numerous other people to advocate violence and hatred against LGBT citizens in America, while you stand in the midst of America, with your eyes and ears shut to these atrocities happening in America, while trying to tell Jamaica to follow suit and ordering them to treat LGBT citizens as Americans treat their own LGBT citizens, you are already campaigning for a hopeless cause! Take time to think about that one, because you know I'm right, and nobody would dare respond, because they know what I am saying is true!
http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/Man-arres... Until you guys learn to treat your children and your minority groups, you can't expect other countries to treat their minority groups and children any better than you treat your own, Tom...America, GET A GRIP!
