It's time for the victims to sue the resturants/food wholesalers and FDA for negilience.
The country of origin food labeling law has been in place for 4 years, but has been blocked by the above entities. Time to make them pay for their actions.

What I find interesting is that they blamed Florida for the tomatoes but yet no one from Florida who ate tomatoes got sick.

nobody knows the answer 1/2 the "sick" people are full of it, just hoping to make some $$$ on a lawsuit!!! some have other problems or other causes but, some low quality doctors just decide that is the cause because they saw the story on the news!

Florida Tomato growers are victims of only bad karma. They have been refusing to heed public opinion and the wishes of Congress to pay a decent wage to the workers who pick their product and now they want Congress to bail them out?
That's just like beachfront property owners barring access to public land but wanting public bailouts when their beach gets eroded during natural events.
Bad citizens don't deserve public funding.

What I want to know is why the outbreak is continuing. It must boil down to poor hygiene and produce handling practices, rather than contaminated farmland, etc. Under our current 'regime', the FDA has been severely cut back and the food safety standards are nil. What is it going to take for people to wake up and demand extensive inspections, regulations and the highest of safety standards for our food supply? Oh, I forgot- standards and regulation hamper the free market, and we can't stand in the way of profits while people get sick and die now, can we?

People need to understand that illegals who pick produce are paid by the pound. To make maximum money you cannot walk a distance to relieve yourself. They go in the fields rather than the port a potty. There is no toilet paper or water and soap to wash with afterwards. Some of the places they live in on the farms do not have running water either. I saw it first hand in south west Miami Dade County. Then you have some restaurant workers in Hollywood that actually sleep on the beach and then go work. This information comes from a relative of one of the restaurant owners on the beach. These people come to work sick and with sores. When I was at Memorial Hospital a woman was sent by her employer (a fast food restaurant) to deal with a sore she had and after the sore was treated she needed to see a doctor to get approval to come back to work. She did not understand the letter part and showed up in the ER as she did in the first place looking for the doctor who treated her so she could get a letter.
