There is no mention of his background. Was he an illegal alien or is this being covered up once again?

8-time convicted felon and he's roaming the streets. Nice job in the "justice" system.

Don't try to make it sound as if this guy was some kind of loose cannon. Obviously he was involved in two bit petty stuff. He freaked out when confronted by cops. No way could anyone predict what would happen next. To say he should have been locked up is wrong. Up to that point he had not done anything serious enough to send him to prison for any lenth of time. Now, he goes.

Driving under the influence of drugs not serious enough? Burglary not serious enough? 5 prior drug offenses not serious enough? A combination of all these not serious enough? Thinking like that is the reason that horrible stuff like this happens. Way to go judicial system... micky62 wrote: Don't try to make it sound as if this guy was some kind of loose cannon. No, it's not enough. So, you would lock people up for things they may do in the future? Are you nuts? You are sentenced for a crime you have commited. You can't give some guy 25 years for a bag of pot. A string of petty offenses and you get life? Your logic stinks.

"John Licausi should not have been driving at all, let alone driving while high on drugs, law enforcement officials said of the man charged with leading Suffolk police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash and the death of a father of three."
THANKS NEWSDAY & LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS FOR POINTING OUT THE OBVIOUS! IT'S ALL CLEAR NOW.

"Indeed, a warrant was issued for Licausi's arrest on May 6 - two days before the crash - on a charge of petit larceny." IF THEY DID THEIR JOB & ARRESTED HIM THAT POOR MAN WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!

Micky I think he was doing these actions in the present not the future. Thats why the officer attempted to catch up to the fleeing offender. Are you nuts? You want officers only to take actions for things that happened in the past? Not offences that are occuring. That logic stinks. Who said anything about 25 years for a bag of pot? micky62 wrote: No, it's not enough. So, you would lock people up for things they may do in the future? Are you nuts? Who said anything about 25 years for a bag of pot? <quoted text> 48 hours later is not a fleeing offender. It seems to me that people always want to blame the "judicial system"... This country is founded upon a government "of the people." If you are dissatisfied with the state of the law then, by all means, contact your legislator.
