Longtime GOP councilman says he'll run tight ship as president

My prayers are starting to come true. FINALLY... after 8 years.

Now, let's get the indictments rolling against MonRoe.

At last, the grownups have returned.

This is what this city needs. Two Col's running it. There will be some changes made now.

He's going to emphasize punctuality? Good grief. Will folks who are late have to drop and give him 20 pushups? Will he lock them out of the chamber? As long as the folks are there in time to cast their ballots, that's really all that matters.

Shouldn't they be there to hear evidence, offer their input, listen to opponents stance as well? Or do you think they should just show up and vote according to their party lines without regard to the merits of the issue at hand!

I look forward to decorum and civility at the CCC meetings after January 1.

Barring a true emergency, being late for any type meeting where you're an integral member demonstrates either a lack of interest or an over extension of your personal time.

If Indy wants to be called a World Class City, then we'd better behave in a world class manner.

I know Bob and work with him on common issues. He is a fair man and very compassionate to his constituents. Dignity and integrity has returned to the council. Good luck Bob.

after listening to an interview with this guy on the radio last night it #1 seemed as though he got the presidency by default (he had been there for 12 years) & #2 this guy (& the council)does not get it.
I have to look at this with trepidation. I would like to see his voting record and see what he's done.

Who does this fat cat think he is? He is no Boss. hell they only had a 20% turn out. When Hillary is elected by a landslide we will get out the vote and the fat cats!

That is the way it has been under the old democrat contol CCC. Its a new game in town starting Jan 1st. Now since we took control of the city goverment let the whinny begin.

What is this supposed to mean? He is the ranking member. Works that way with the Dems too. I can't wait for Hillary to get elected. Paying 50% of my wages to pay for socialized healthcare is a dream come true! Move to Canada and experience it, you'll be back in a year or 2.

The first step in doing a good job is to show up.

As for locking them out of the chamber - this summer they locked the public out of the chamber. So why not? What's good for the goose...

This is what Indy needs; a leader whose best days were in the 1960s...
he is a nice enough guy--and probably a better guy than monroe gray--but he isn't what Indy needs.

WRONG!! Only crook Gray locks people out. If you want the job accept the responsibility. That means 100% effort.

It's not that Ballard & Cockrun are former military men. It's the fact honor and loyalty to The People that matters.

Who cares which side of the aisle they sit? They are councilmembers and should now represent ALL of Indianapolis' citizens - get to work and fix the city's problems, regardless of your affiliation. You work for us.

HE never said that. The STAR made it the focus of their article. Now who thinks the Star might have a small agenda here, being as they are so in love with Bart Peterson.

Cockrum says his first priority is getting the police force back under the mayor.
