You are welcom to your opion, But with more RETAIL SALES than any other car company in the USA for May. GM sales were made up with over 38% being to fleet, Goverment departments or rent a car companys. Ford figures were even higher. In the land downunder Toyota just missed out on beeting Ford and Holden sales combined again. Look up to year to date figures on the Vfact site. So it must have been a sad day for Toyota.

GM should be proud of its fleet. American companies are buying form American makers. Toyota lost accounts because they are blackballed and nobody wants to be held liable. Toyota is screwed.

I am here to school you. Toyota posted double digit sales declines in Canada and underperformed the US market. Donít you forget that. I want you to learn the difference between volume and sales.

In the interest of a level playing field, if the majority of us on the board are American, let's stick to American sales figures. I'm quite sure you could rustle up any kind of figures you want from any number of countries. How'd their sales do in Botswana?
At any rate, while their rate of sales increase is way, way down, they still sold more cars this period than the previous one. I'm interested to see how this goes in the intermediate term. They're still a huge company and I wonder if they're smart enough to figure out how to come back.

I track Canadian sales because itís the NA market. I also like dabbling in emerging markets but thatís another story. Regarding future sales, you are seeing what is referred to as the pull ahead effect. Toyota will probably continue to post slower sales because they enticed their current customers and loyalist to buy during and after the recall debacle. They really only have two choices, up the incentives or reduce. Reducing will ultimately reduce there sales. They followed GMís playbook and got the same results. Toyota is a damaged brand. How long will it take to recover? Who knows Ė but I still think their market will never reach the level it once had. Thereís simply too much competition and Toyotaís cars were generally known for quality, not excitement. Excitement was lost with the Supra several years ago and we all know where the quality story landed.

Good points, but Canada is the North American market? Wouldn't US sales dwarf Canada's?
