I think each of us can find valid examples where each party (management and unions) has dropped the ball.. Successful companies share accountability, look beyond the upcoming business quarter, and work together for the success of all ... This situation is becoming too common placein our economy..There is enough blame to go around, no party is exempt...

Second, what concern is it of yours if RRT is self employed and posting here during work? jealous? If he is working for someone else and posting during work, you should understand because your husband usually slacks at work too.
Why aren't you at work? You should be doing doubles to make up for hubby's lack of income. Come on you will now have to wear the pants in the family. Hehehehe
Did ya notice the times I am on??? I am self employed and employed in a professional union position--no time during my day to screw my employer and waste his time--when did you see computers in any factories??? These guys earn every penny they make that is why AAM is one of the only suppliers that has made Dauch millions! Again, they did not hire slouches--they hired intelligent, hard working people the past 15 years!! Get it now???

Please re-read your original post...You stated the best cars SOLD according to Consumer Reports...I would assume that you meant sales after reading that and not some direction of convoluted thought you might have had after reading my post...
Secondly, I referred to Consumer Reports as an independent agency...I never once said that they are being bought off by large corporations or special interest...You must have imagined that part as well.
Also, I admitted that the sales were only based on the month of January, but like you said, you'd rather conduct your business based on conjecture and opinion from an independent agency and not on trends represented with fact.
In your reply, you say you only meant the foreign plants in the US, a fact that you omitted in your original. Again, do you expect people to understand what you mean by channeling? FYI, employees at the Toyota plant in Tennessee are currently in the midst of organizing as part of the UAW...info you might like to keep track of as you badmouth unions while praising foreign automakers.
Finally, I could respect your opinions more, and probably choose to even give it credibility if you didn't refer to me as a moron, or refer to women as being stupid for whom they may have married.
Intelligence is a trait to be admired, but to flaunt it, even feigned intellect, only makes a person appear arrogant and insufferable.
I picture you as quite the loner, incapable of assimilation with anyone due to the fact that you consistently look down on anyone considered average...and that's too bad, because I'm sure as I write this, as someday you may attain wealth, you will always be poor and lacking in humanity.
I wish you nothing but luck for years to come...but I'm sure you're sense of humility wouldn't think of allowing you to accept it.
Bravo!!!

What difference does it make as far as where I work or what I do. If I'm self-employed then I can do whatever with my time, and if I work for one of those greedy corporations and god forbid, I'm not getting fired, then I would hae a lot to worry about, right? Either way it's my business, none of yours. And also, where I work as union people, and it's ridiculous to say Union people earn their money. Are you smart enough to know what an oxymoron is, because that's what your saying. If you union people earn your money, then why is one of the most frequently used statements I hear from union workers is "That's not my job", because if you left it up to these union workers, nothing would be their job, and then they would demand a raise for that.
And at least I was smart enough to get skills that aren't causing me to lose my job, so it looks like the ones who aren't so smart are your union husband and you for marrying him!(LOL)
Apparently you never worked in Business either--commonly heard-its not my job? Or even a job because it is one of the most common phrases used! As far as my husband, he is the best looking, most talented & degreed individual at AAM (a wife's opinion) that is why he along with all the other great workers that were hired in the last 15 years are doing what is right and will move on to brighter days--when Dicky Dauch forks over the bucks!!!

Yea a business thinker--as I! I will bet you have lost business due to the strike--unless you own a gas station??? Then you know that Corporate American Greed has ruined this country and not Unions. My business degrees are from here, where did you get yours??? I worked in industry and when I graduated I wanted to be a company person, wow did that change after one year in industry! I wanted to be a Union person (AFL-CIO) and never left!!!!!
By the way, good thing I left, that factory closed several years ago--packed up, moved south and eventually was bought out--Corporate needs to start thinking like Unions, treat people good and you will get a good product or screw America and move overseas!
First, the deal AAM and the UAW are making are less than the "market competitiveness". The pay scales and benefits are less.
Of course my husband is educated and like I have stated before. AAM paid the best and was our best option financially when my husband took that job 14yrs ago. 3 generations and numerous other family members had retired from those plants before him. Anyone would want to make that kind of money. Dick hired my husband with these wages, benefits etc. When he bought those 5 plants 14 yrs ago then he should have changed his pay scales then. It is not right or fair to do it to us a marriage, 2 kids and 14 yrs later.
Why must I always repeat myself with this...?
I don't care if you are union or non-union. If you make $10 an hr or $100 an hr I would like to see any of you take this type of pay cut and not complain. Just take it. Dedicated 1/2 your career and start over. Forget everything you have worked for. Forget about your house and the needs of your family. Just take it. If you can say you will then you are obviously lying.
Finally, if you read my post at all I am ready to move on. I want this over. And, above all, I don't want my husband working for the frickin jerk and cronies. We will never know what crap he is going to pull next and I refuse to live that way. That is why my husband already has a job and we are waiting for the buy out. A buy out that IS rightfully his. Dick DOES owe this to my family. As i stated before he gave his 14 yrs, injured his back to the point of surgery and was a damn good worker while he was there. He is NOT the lazy factory rat that you assume them all to be.
So, put that in your pipe and smoke it!

I don't think jealousy has anything to do with it. I'm not jealous that you/they make $28/hr. That is well below my hourly compensation as a salaried employee with a corporation (not to mention the perks and expense account).

I feel bad that many of you are simply going to be out of a job and will have to work at Home Depot in order to maintain healthcare coverage.

Boy, you really like to twist things around. My original post said best cars, period. Consumer reports states best cars sold, because of course, they are sold. What do you think they make cars for? And only an idiot would confuse best selling with best, as just because something is selling doesn't mean it's the best quality.

Also I never meant plants at all, that's what your came up with. I said foreign cars, and that's interpreted as companies owned by foreigners. Never did I mention plants until I had to correct you, which is getting to be a habit.

As far as consumer reports is concerned, do you have any data that says they are not reputable. If a source is reputable, again please explain to me what's wrong with using that source.

And don't worry about me, I'll be just fine.

Like I said, one of the favorite lines from a union worker is "That's not my job." Hear it every day, but I must admit those union workers certainly can be entertaining to watch. Never have I had so many laughs then to see a union worker try every trick in the book to get out of work.

You can support unions if you want, buy American cars. But there are a lot of us out here who won't. And as you can see, it's having an effect on the auto industry here now isn't it? Gotta go, gonna go do some shopping. Maybe I'll stop at Wal-Mart, good place to get value on a lot of items since you don't have to pay that extra overhead to support union workers! I'll enjoy driving my foreign car over there. BTW - ssve you speech on how Wal-Mart sells stuff from China, because China isn't their only supplier.

One more thing, UAW has been trying to organize Toyota down south for years, and it still isn't happening. What's the problem? The workers are too smart to join a union. If you have some current information let me know what website your checking.

Also, Toyota when it built the plant, told the workers if they unionize then the plant will be closed. And they have a right to do that. So I don't want to hear any cry baby stories about union busting. Obviously Toyota is a good company, makes better cars than anything here in the U.S. Seems like those hard working union boys are jealous of this, but then again shat would they know?

Good post... I think Toyota is the "new" benchmark companies need to look at during negotiations... I think they pay around $18 an hour + benefits, probally 42-50K a year with overtime.... Sounds about right when you consider healthcare coverage for a family of 4 is about 12K a year and rising..

As you can see,(although never admit), according to you, Consumer Reports says "sold", and you quoted an article based on "sales", and you further complicated the issue by posting a website based on "best". Apparently one of two things are at work here according to you.
First, you are the one twisting words, and second, you wish to call yourself an idiot.

As for your second,(only two?), faux pas, you are the person who proudly exclaimed that the foreign vehicles you cited on the list were all non-union made. Yes, silly of me to say that the vehicles were produced in an automobile plant, as it's obvious to only you, some of them must have been grown in non-union greenhouses. But that's not the gist of my reply.
My rebuttal to your illusion was simply to state that you made a mistake, and that facilities that are abroad, are employing union employees. Certainly, you would grasp the concept that that means, there ARE foreign cars made that are union-made as well...and certainly a blanket statement as "ALL foreign cars are non-union", is wrong.

(By the way, did you know that the Toyota Corolla is made by UAW employees?)...Yes, I didn't think so...but then again, there seems to be a few things you don't know.

Finally, to satisfy you're enormous ego...I don't think you are a fool, but what's my opinion compared to that of thousands of others.
