The potential loss of their jobs will not only affect them, but will have a domino effect for the rest of us in our community.Everybody loses, except the parent company.

whenever i ask someone with a hyundai or a toyota
why they bought it, I hear "it was cheaper" and
those "auto workers make too much". Well when your
auto worker neighbor loses his job and goes on unemployment, collects food stamps, heat assistance,
and any other benefits , in the long run your
japmobile really cost than buying American

You mean they want to pay the workers a measly 50K. How insulting! You should go on strike, I'll bet that will help. Unions have destroyed the manufacturing industry in the US. In an effort to secure good jobs and benefits for it's workers, they have driven up the cost of doing business here to the point that it makes no sense to stay here anymore. Now because 40K wasn't enough, we can all make 25.

'I think it made it worse" No shit? You think? This is going to be a turning point for the way negotiations go between unions and management unfortunateley to the tune of many job losses.

The Cheektowaga plant's main product was something used mostly by the Tonawanda plant...

....so if the Tonawanda plant is closing it should be no surprise that the Cheektowaga plant closes too.

i buy jap because they are just plain better cars....oh and headline, hondas are made in alabama and fords are made in canada and mexico. no american car is american anymore and no jap car is all jap. i have 2 honda cars, a honda motorcycle and a yamaha motorcycle. they will outlast anything that gm, ford or harley davidson will ever build. my friend works for harley and he wishes he had a jap bike. the parts lists are funny to. there are more jap parts on a harley then on a goldwing. go find the specs...i dare ya. i'd go work at american axle for 13 bucks an hour and so would a lot of other people in this community. you'll never catch me driving a chevy though.
