American youths only loves music they think they hear on i-pods. We have a society of backward youths. Go to Europe and you will see the difference.

You said it. Europeans have a real respect for the musical arts even outside of classical music. I went to a jazz club and you could hear a pin drop concerning the audience. Here in the US, they act like it is a sports bar and yack yack yack. However, The Green Mill Chicago has a bouncer that takes care of the yackers;-) The idea of a robot conductor is the stupidest idea ever since the drum machine. |

This only goes to show what I have believed for years! The conductor is only there for show and a monkey could do his job!

If that robot be havin copper wiring, it will be stripped. Otherwise the fellaz be grabbin it and playin wit it before they takes it to the scrap yard for money to support their crack habit. Nothing stands tall in Detroit cuz there are the dregs of the earth dare, even blades of grass are in a leaning position. dey even have cardboard cut outs of Hollywood movies actors from crime movies mounted in their front yards like we have of the pink plastic flamingos. wats up wit dat, i axe chu?

Congratulations to all you parents out there who have raised a generation of video game and tv cartoon addicts. Their role model is a robot. I guess mom and dad are too busy clawing their way up the corporate ladder to teach kids respect for human life, and their fellow man. It's easier to stick 'em in front of a monitor and let them learn values from a bunch of Chinese computer-generated cartoons. What next, Mommyo the sexy soulmate robot?

Bryce, unfortunately you speak the truth. At least in Detroit you still have an orchestra, robot conducted or not. We are going to lose ours in Columbus at the end of this month, thanks to exactly all the things you have stated. |

Shame Osimo wasn't around when that useless lefty Leonard Bernstein was around and hanging out with the Black Panthers in Manhattan (see Tom Wolfe book). Sadly classical music is dying.
