ALWAYS check with the dealer licensing board in YOUR state before entering into any agreement. Ask your state agency,"can I sell retail in our state with this plan"? There can be civil penalties if you violate the licensing regulations in your state.
BTW wholesalers cannot sell retail in any state or on the Internet or from their homes or on a street corner, period.

What would you rather do? Pay a stranger big monthly fees and have titles for vehicles that you purchase at auctions sent to them? Or would you rather do things the correct and legal way, have a legal lot, and a legal license that is in YOUR name?

there is no such thing retailing cars to public with a wholesale license. Unless you "flipping" it the crook way. Used car business is already saturated with dealers and "wannabe" dealers. Plus the new car dealers are buying used cars at auctions and sell them in their lot.

Somebody has to stop these companies like flippingautos. They are ruining the whole automobile sales industry by making it way too easy to get a license.
TRUST ME THERE ARE NO MORE DEALS AT THE AUCTIONS ALREADY. The only ones that profit from all this wholesale license bs is them, the companies that sell you the license

The wholesale business is DEAD right now. Why? No new cars being sold so no trade-ins entering the marketplace. At the auctions I attend there not NOT enough cars to meet the demand so prices are high. I often see cars selling for retail at auction. Dealers are keeping every car they take on trade that sre decent no matter the age. The wholesale business model has been turned on it's ears. No margin left for wholesalers to flip cars to dealers. And if the the economy doesn't turn it will get worse.

OK I have a question. I bought a car on EBay from a wholesale dealer. I had an immediate problem and reported it to him. I guess I was a little naive and didn't understand the rules that prevented wholesale dealers from selling cars to the general public. This guy sells a ton of cars on EBay and on his listings he even says he's a wholesaler selling cars to the general public. My question is whether or not I have any recourse here? The car was a $5K car and has at least that much in repairs required.

I am about to receive my Wholesale dealer license, and after reading these posts it seems like I just wasted my money getting this thing, because as Krazy Kar Guy stated, there is no profit left for wholesalers to flip cars to dealers, so my license will be worthless.
And since I legally cannot sell to the public, getting this thing was pointless.
If anyone knows of a LEGAL way for me to still be able to make some profit with this Wholesalers License please email me at: AutoWholesalerMS@yahoo.com.
And I do mean a LEGAL way, because I have a family and cannot afford to do something stupid that will end up getting me put in jail -nothing is worth that, as my family depends on me. I just want to be able to make some extra money so my kids have a better life than I did growing up. Thanks.

hey crazy guy instead of discouraging others, you need to find a better market to get rid of your cars. Its still plenty money to be made. Just learn to find different options of doing it. How you make money if only selling one way.

Can you please address the issues crazy guy made? Specifically when he said "wholesalers cannot sell retail in any state or on the Internet or from their homes or on a street corner, period."

Because I looked into this, and he was correct about what he said. I have no doubt you are selling so many cars, but the question is whether what you are doing is legal or not. Most of us have families and can't afford doing something that is illegal.

So can you please address the points he made and tell how you are able to sell when as crazy guy stated it is illegal to do it that way? Thanks.

Once again..someone attacks someone who is pointing out the facts. Instead of just blindly attacking this guy..why don't you actually post an answer that addresses the FACTS that he pointed out? Or are you an employee of one of these companies like "flipping autos" who is just trying to garner more business?

Don't just post some insulting comment. If what this guy said was wrong..then tell us why it is wrong. He only stated the legal facts so that people don't get in trouble with the law. If what he stated was wrong..then tell us WHY it is wrong in specifics.

Im sorry if I hurt your feelings ,but everything I wrote is a true fact. This business has been in the hush hush for decades.Ppl (love and feed) on putting wrong information on the net to discourage newcomers. This business was (key word "was") saturated ,but of course why wouldnt it be in a bad economy. Guess what you still can make money with a slow econnomy(with a whole sale license),if it was not true then ppl would drop out the race. Now plse inform me what i said that was wrong. I only acknowledged the fact that you can do it,make money and use easier ways to get a license rather then saying "I wish there aren't any companies that made getting a license easier. Yeah sure I might of added a lil extra, but we are all grown and dont need to cry over spilled milk. Oh yeah and I will ansewer a question that is asked. What was said is a opinion
and, since we all can share opnions I proudly voiced mine .
I hate when some one tries to make a point and totally contradict themselves and become a hypocrite. Ohh and no I am a self employed entrepreneur that only work with freinds and family. I never follow under another company I rather make my own way n follow my own guidlines. Sometimes a lil research can help, im not here to give a full paperback novel on a givin subject. Definitely not giving any handouts, I beleave that hard work and dedication will help any person succeed. ohh and plse write back i rather enjoy this ^---------

Ohh and you can sell a car to the public with a wholesale license through consignment on a retail dealers lot. Here you go one "freebie", I answered something that was not asked but was stated only I hope I made your day.

Just curious as to why you would state this. I am interested in being able to attend a wholesale auction just to purchase three vehicles for my own personal use and was thinking about using them just for the ability to attend the auction. Any feedback you can give me would be appreciated.

I would say get a person with a license to take you with they would usually charge a cheap"bring along fee($200-350)" ......or .......go to the public auction with atleast $2500-4500 and you should come out good(remember patience is a virtue in car buying).

P.S.-these are two ways to get into an auction w/o having to spend start up costs for a license and monthly fees, remember once your in your are a legitimate business.

Explanation to sell to public legally
Curious is correct when it comes to selling to the public all you have to do is have a relationship with a couple retail dealerships(Make sure is a small used car dealerships thatís looking into making quick buck and when you come down to an agreement please make sure is all written down and notarize )around your area. Retail dealer would finalize the sale by selling the car to your costumer. Example: You have costumer who is interested in purchasing your car. Then, you call a dealer. He (dealer) will fill out all the necessary paperwork required by state to finalize the sale.(Purchase Agreement and Bank Financing if any, etc. just remember, all paperwork would be between the dealer and seller). All this time the government is going to see is that you are selling the vehicle to the dealer and the dealer is selling it forward to the costumer (This is legal to do so because a wholesale dealer license allows you to sell your car in auction or to other dealers but not to the public. P.s I am not reliable for any illegal actions you take by my information (comment) Just remember that is illegal to post any of your cars in craigslist or any other advertising web online with a wholesale dealer license. Again, use your retail dealers for this also only if possible. Keep an eye theirs some auction that are making wholesale dealer license from out of state are transporting your vehicle out of state.
