Volunteers call for president's dismissal
Dissatisfied Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company volunteers want President Mark Bumbaugh removed and the department to keep its commitment to purchase a vehicle from a local dealer.

Let me guess. Chuck Brumbaugh would get a commission. Too late, the board had voted and action was taken. The vehicle was bought and the title transferred. Mark Brumbaugh's decision was extremely poor so he should step down when asked to by the other volunteers.

You children need to grow up and act like responsible fire fighters. Isn't that why you are (supposed to be) there?

A correction will be made by the volunteers. Seems Mark was bitten by the same corruption bug as ol' Payraise Punt and he too made a bad decision to weasel out of the contract made with Shiveley. As for Chuck, he managed to bring a bunch of negative PR to the auto dealership he works for. Of course, they're happy about that--no sale contract, just bad publicity.

First of all, calling Wagaman & Kauffman and probably many others on the said petition volunteers is a joke. When is the last time they volunteered for something. The excuse that they don't want to be there because this person or that person is in office is ridiculous. Most of them aren't there because something didn't go their way. If you are truly a volunteer and want to help the community, you will regardless of who is in office. This whole fiasco with the Nitro was just another attempt to discredit the fire dept. Causing all this bad publicity is not helping anyone. Suck it up people.....the world does revolve around you.

What is the meaning of a Volunteer? I think that this is a department that doesn't understand what the true meaning is.......I have often been at the Fire departments Frieday Night bingo which is held every Friday night. This bingo is to be run by the departments volunteer fire fighters however if it wouldn't be for the ladys auxillary members and some of the bingo players who offer to help out there would be no bingo on Fridays, however if it wasn't for MARK BUMBAUGH on Fridays at bingo there wouldn't be anyone to call bingo. This dispute has been going on for quite some time now and you are just bringing this up or is this a case of where someone didn't get voted in as president and is trying to get there now? It is the VOLUNTEER MEMBERS that voted that MARK BUMBAUGH be president this year.....I think that for reasons like this and various other reasons that the volunteers of this company have caused is the reason that this company is the only company that has an empty parking lot except for the paid personel every night of the week. I don't see any other fire department with empty parking lots. I remember way back to the time when Fayetteville Fire Department was the BIG HANG OUT for a lot of folks... There was never a wonder if the engine, squad, or the ambulance were going to scratch now I have to wonder every time I am at home and the tones go off for a call from that station. Being that I am in their first due area I worry wether the company will make their calls. I personally feel as someone who supports this company that if someone doesn't get their head out of their ass you are going to lose a lot more than just a member or two.....don't down someone who MIGHT have made a mistake because no one is perfect and life is full of mistakes and I'm sure the people that are making a BIG deal out of this have never made a mistake, but I'm also sure that there are people that know better than that. I am a past fire fighter and have known Mark Bumbaugh for a lot of years and he has put more time and effort into being there for all the the things like bingo and drawings that keep this fire department ALIVE!!!!
A lot of so called Volunteers are making a BIG mistake and if I was Mark I would say to hell with you all and if he did say that good for him and good luck to the next person that the volunteers vote into this spot and watch out for that knife someone is carrying around for it might be your back next!!!!!!!! |

Bingo Patron – I want to thank you for your Friday night support of the Fayetteville Fire House. The issue at hand with Mark is the vehicle that the membership agreed to buy. The membership had a company meeting the issue was discussed a vote was made, A second was received and the membership voted to buy the vehicle from Shivley Motor’s. Mark feels he does not have to follow what the membership voted for. As for Fayetteville being the “Big” hangout, many years ago it was but unfortunately many of now have families and must work full time jobs to raise those families. They do what they can when they can. I am sure to some what they do it not enough but at least they try.

Well if it was just about him and bingo you would have a point. Their is more to it than what your worried about bingo will go on no fear of that |

Remember we are talking Fayetteville here. The idea of mutual co-operation and teamwork is light years away from these sad sacks.

It's hard to imagine the Wagamans are causing problems again! Obviously someones in office that won't roll over, play dead, and let them get there way. Guess this is there devious plan to get a puppet back in office. As always, they'll continue stirring the pot with any recruits they can find. This is a never ending saga.

Is that Wagaman the same Wagaman who was under investigation for animal cruelty with the Co. puppy last year?

Same family, just a different family member.

First of all, is the Public Opinion this hard up for "news". I am a little confused...I read the articles previously about the issue of Shively Motors suing the FVFD about a vehicle. According to this article, it seems Shively's dropped that suit. I admit I don't read the paper every night, but was there an article about them dropping the suit and why it was dropped? Or are you only reported one side of the story...the one that is trying to make the Fire Dept (a non profit organization that is there to serve and protect our communities)look bad.
Secondly, this is just speculation....but have the "members" calling for the resignation recently bought vehicles from Shivley's or have they agreed to if Shively's continues to harrass FVFD. One has to guess what Bryan Burkholder's motives are since the original suit has apparently been dropped. Was the Nitro ever really legally titled into the Fire Dept's name? Suggestion, in the future FVFD should have a written policy for purchasing vehicles. Sealed bids or whatever, but all options and after market deals should be included in the price. You have to compare apples to apples. This is just bad publicity. It is a shame it is a result of personal vendettas. |

Once again this has nothing to do with me so why are you bringing my name into this problem. Go ahead bash me and my name it was an ACCIDENT that was not aviodable epsically for being at 6 in the morning and pitch black. The gentleman that I hit has recovered full and I wish him the best.
So once again let me out of this.... |

I use headlights when I'm driving and it's "pitch black". Surprisingly, it helps a lot ! |

BUMBAUGH SUPPORTER AND LEE,
YOU ARE MISSING THE WHOLE POINT. THE STORY IS ABOUT THE MISS CONDUCT OF THE PRESIDENT IF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE MEMBERSHIP APPROVED THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE FROM SHIVELY'S MOTORS BECAUSE THE PRICE WAS. THE MEMBERS THAT WERE PRESENT AT HE MEETING KNOW THIS FOR A FACT. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS STILL A LAW SUIT AGAINST THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE SUIT AGAINST THE RELIF ASSOCIATION WAS DROPED AND REFILED UNDER THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. MR. BUMBAUGH HAS LIED TO THE DEPARTMENT STATING THE SUIT HAS BEEN DROPPED BUT IN FACT IT HAS NOT. YOU TWO NEED TO READ THE ACTICAL AGAIN. YOU ALSO NEED TO LEAVE THE WAGAMAN BOY ALONG. HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. GO AFTER KENNY!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! |
