Distracted? Perhaps we should have some sort of ADD screening before we hand over hundreds of lives to someone that can't remember to FLY THE PLANE!!

They had 144 lives-plus the rest of the crew-in their hands and they were distracted for 80 minutes?? I hope they never have a surgeon who decides to check out his surgical schedule in the middle of a procedure.

There is no way that these two bozo's weren't sleeping! All evidence points to that and I am so happy they will be losing their jobs in this economy...good luck finding a new job.

I fly to MPLS from Phoenix every other week, many times on NW. NO more NW. I don't believe their story because of the many fail safe's. But I do feel the airline and the government nust get to the bottom this, without any BS. It was an disastorus accident waiting to happen. The incompetence is hard to believe.

Give em a 2nd chance! Look at all the bafoons in DC? Talk about not having a clue where they're going! They are taking our country for a miserable ride, and they are way off course! Let's put things in perspective.

You give em a second chance. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fiasco in Washington and your effort to make it so is counter productive to the conservative movement. These idiots were asleep while they were supposed to be flying an airplane with passengers. They should have their licenses revoked...end of rant.

I think what they did was wrong. This could have been a tragedy. Someone needs to get to the bottom of this.
We all have done some pretty stupid things and sometimes they turn out ok. In this case these two were pretty lucky and there were no injuries or death.
I think they should take their past work history into account and judge them accordingly. No, I wouldn't want to see them fired

Well the licenses are now revoked by FAA. Just about time. As for Mr. Moak DLs Chief Pilot, get a grip. It is not jumping the gun here. This negligence pure and simple. Wake up all you flight crews. Go by your procedures for it takes little for things to go really wrong. In this case we were very very lucky

A few things to question:
Laptop search history can be checked.
Flight attendants would prepare for landing per schedule; no communication from the cockpit should have concerned them.
Passengers would also be aware of flight time; I certainly would!

Public stoning never seems to go out of style. Of course, where's the personal redemption in buying a Swiffer Duster?

Funny thing, NONE of you self-righteous armchair drivers has a CLUE as to what went on in that cockpit. What you all have in common is an intense desire to JUDGE these guys as unsavory and unfit, according to your lights.

The accusations are mostly fantasies, personal ones, like the Mile-High fantasy,(easy with the Viagra Herbert), the Sleepers, the Pilot Combatants... Then come the Preachers: "Any pilot who misses a radio call is committing a sin against ALL of us."

What you really want is to see a hand chopped off; a public flogging, or to participate in an afternoon stoning. We really haven't come as far as we think, have we?

These men are liars, plain and simple. And cowards for not manning up and telling the truth. They may get away with this, but they shouldn't. We need to know what really was going on up there, no matter how tawdry or innocent or bizarre. But being preoccupied with a schedule is not it. There were loud speakers as well as radio communications. Liars, plain and simple.

You prove they were asleep!! And, if you thimk the people in DC have a clue as to what they're doing - what planet did you step off of? While I'm at it - irreverent fits you perfectly. You don't respect my right to my opinion & evidently the only one that counts is your own. I bet you've never made a terrible mistake and needed mercy, grace, forgiveess or another chance - ha? Yea right! Blessed are the merciful - for the shall ontain mercy!
