Virgin, the ultimate luxury liner is right.
BA shouldn't even consider merging with American with a ten foot pole. They are far classier than American and even United and most certainly Delta.

When more is less... I've crossed the pond over 50 times; I've flown American {that does an adequate job}, British {who - for an extended period in the 70's and '80's, was awful, but whose four classes of service to day do offer more choice than most}, et al and I'd prefer to fly the Asian carriers [Cathay, Singapore, etc] any time. In fact, the American 'Alliance' has gotten so...rocky, I've been going out of my way to connect to Asian carriers going to Europe. Branson may be right, only time will tell. However, one thing apprears obvious, the carriers will be falling by the way side one after another due to their mis-management and lack of customer service [regardless of the 'class' of service flown]. I' just waiting - oh, somebody, please, for an American grid of High Speed Rail with power from American nuclear plants... But, that's another - though interdependent, story.

Oh fine, let AA spread like a cancer and ruin whatever quality remains of Iberia and BA. Hopefully the deal will be blocked.

Joey, Ever been in the cockpit? No sir, I've never seen the cockpit. I've never even been on a plane before!

I will be glad to see most of these HIDEOUS US carriers go. They have no service. Their stewardesses are rude, fat, old and unhelpful. The planes are disgusting and just plain nasty and unsafe. I used to be a school teacher and I am ashamed of what the us has turned out and where the us is heading ever since the Kennedy Era, which was the start of the end in my opinion. America has been on the downslide. Yes I do buy items from China they are cheaper and made better. I will be glad when foreign carriers come to the US and put all of the nasty US airline workers out of work and out on the streets.
