the dark ages when the Catholic Church held the whole European Continent in it's iron fist and people were burned alive for even the slightest disagreement with the church. Midwifes were tortured to death, peasants that were happier with their gentle nature religions were tortured til they converted,... or died.... I'm sure other readers could list many, many other horrors brought to us by the Catholic Church.....
