Who says? Why is it up to the insurance industry to lower medical costs? Do they regulate doctors, research and development, medical equipment suppliers, hospitals, drug companies or lawyers?
There are hospitals and businesses and plans out there that do result in the reduction of the cost of care but our government has been too busy trying to take us over that they haven't bothered looking into real solutions.
Health insurance COVERS costs. Almost every country on this earth is dealing with rising costs right now, even those with universal coverage. We are fighting the wrong battle.

They may have there faults, but McCain would have dealt with Gitmo better, would have made a decision on Afghanistan by now, would have been more fiscally responsible, not sign a healthcare bill that we can't afford, not endager small business with Cap&Trade, etc., etc., etc.

I totally agree but don't mention it too often. Most people are still uncomfortable with what they call "conspiracy theories." But yeah, it's very likely the Fed also known as the Bilderberg Group are the ones really calling the shots.
