We've got problems with the extremes from both parties, but the dems in the '70's makes me nostalgic for those days of yore when I thought we were going to take down the suits in the establishment. The establishment is winning in leaps and bounds now. I think we need to organize a sit in and play some Bob Dylan.
<quoted text>
We've allowed our government to become unaccountable for their actions. But, it's a reflection of our society as a whole. The redeeming consequence of our current economic malaise is that finally enough people are beginning to have enough of their shit. Republicans and Democrats alike.
I wonder how many incumbents will be sent packing in '10 and '12?
Fiscal conservatives and moral leaders will have a good opportunity to take a place in government again soon.....I hope.

Hmmm, this post of yours is certainly worth thinking about. I can understand where you're coming from. But will those totally on the other side of the fence listen if we use tact in our approach? And, those a little more open minded and at least willing to listen to our side of it, might need to feel more of sense of urgency. So which one of us is right on our approach? I honestly don't know. I do know though that people on the same team who play "good cop, bad cop" with the opposition often acheive good results. Therefore I think you should continue telling those on the left that Obama's intentions are good, while I'll continue to tell them Obama is an evil turd. Ö¿Ö
No, those people will not listen even after they are homeless and eating in soup kitchens....and I reserve my right to skewer those idiots on Topix too! But for those that have an open mind, and the least bit of common sense, will recognize the urgency by noticing the profound changes Pelosi, Reid, and Obama are subjecting all of us to. They will be more open to seeing this when we take the high road and try to reason with them.....and state the facts.
As for the rest of the leftist idiots are concerned, it takes little effort to make 'em flop like a fish on the pier. They're so easy.....and are we really surprised by it?

I have found some open minded people who haven't recognized the "urgency." I think Tinka is one of them.

As for the total clowns, I enjoy razzing the hell of out them too. We're totally on the same page in that regard.

Hmmmm, if you say so...I have been like a wave about it all, up and down and up and down...very angry and very bitter, frustrated, as a lot of people seem to be...or have been in the past...

On topix anyways...

It really serves no purpose...to get like that..I know what is needed...I know it will take time, and I can only imagine what is up in that Congress...

So I am going to write my President like I said...

Have a good night...

Perhaps I misunderstood you. At times you seemed to display complacency and seemed in no hurry at all. You also seem in support of Obama for the most part. But sometimes more than others. I don't know exactly where you stand on all the issues. Either that, or I have trouble understanding some of your posts. You did seem angry, bitter and frustrated at times, but not at Obama.

Anyway, if you can get Obama to respond directly to you, congratulations. I have a hard time even getting a Congressman in my district to respond with anything outside of a form letter they send to everyone.

<quoted text> Let's try a little logic here please, the Government has taken the Money from the Employeers, paying off the Unions for the Election and giving it back to the lower classs what is left in the form of welfare/unemployment, sorry want to be PC about this. Then, knowing the jobs won't be coming back before the 2010 election, there going to give them FREE Healthcare so they can get re-elected before they figure out this Healthcare this was not a good deal them as they thought....but, they can't say we didn't warn them. See ya in WW3 in 2013.
WW3?

I am going to try to reach him...that's my plan...Arnie never answered me either...But it's just some time spend on the comp.

I am in believe that the man is more human than a lot of other politicians...I just don't know what goes on inside of that place...And with all that it is, him changing history, the world cheering, if he really is just that, heartless, then somehow there will be hell to pay...I think the people paid plenty already...So I don't think it will be us this time...

...."Here's a story you may have missed because it flies in the face of the dreary conventional wisdom: When advocates of public programs take on the right-wing anti-government crowd directly, the government-haters lose.

This is what happened in two statewide referendums last week that got buried under all of the attention paid to the governors' races in Virginia and New Jersey. In Maine, voters rejected a tax-limitation measure by a walloping 60 percent to 40 percent. In Washington state, a similar measure went down, 57-43.

They lost in part because opponents of the so-called Taxpayer Bill of Rights measures (known as TABOR) did something that happens too rarely in the national debate: They made a case for what government does, why it's important, and why cutbacks in public services can be harmful to both individual citizens and the common good."....
