Wow, in this country I didn't know one could ban the use of a word on television other than an obscenity? Considering the FCC allows rather filthy words on TV nowadays, like 's--t,''dick' and I actually think p-ssy has been allowed as the naughty word du jour, it strains reason to ban the word 'midget.'

How about "stupid dwarf"? Would that make the cut?

On this July 4th weekend, people should remember our rights as Americans, including the right to speak freely. It would terrify me if a word like that could be banned on television just because an interest group wants it so.

that, and their insistence on such a carte-blanche ban appears to be "short" sighted

What makes you think that it has anything to do with 'liberals'?

Is that what you Sarah Palin lovin', teabaggin', Hannity watchin' folk just reflexively now scream out whenever someone says or does something you disagree with? "Oh that darn X, Y, and Zs. Must be those liberals again!"

Wouldn't those nasty liberal pot tokin hippies in the ACLU actually be the folks arguing in favor of free speech, as they have in the past -- much to the consternation of conservatives?

You have got your battle lines all confused pal. Just cause they're midgets, doesn't make 'em card-carrying 'Liberals.' After all, Bush was a mental midget and he....

As the owner of three MG Midget sports cars, I think that this would be discriminatory against me and my cars. There also happens to be a 1977 MG Midget named "Bridget the Midget" who is expecting to complete a round the world drive in Chicago this year. Would this prevent coverage of this notable achievement? It isn't the word "midget" that is a problem here, it is the attitudes towards smaller people which are at fault.

Daily Horoscope for November 23

Pisces

Others may think you are in fairy land as the dreamy Moon joins fanciful Neptune in your twelfth house of secrets. Go ahead and let your imagination run wild, but don't allow unfounded fears to paralyse you. This is a good day for dreaming about the future and visualizing where you want to be in the coming days. Allow yourself to drift a bit on this somewhat lazy day.
