What did I say? I believe I mentioned some of the diseases which would be a good idea to cover...and again, the idea is to get off of the meds. I have no idea which drugs will be covered so i mentioned a few. OK? I think the poster above took your post as meaning that you'd never take drugs, whether legal or not if you needed them. It was how you worded your post. I knew what you meant by what you said. Some though, might have taken it to mean that even if you needed a prescription drug, you'd refuse. We all do know that how we choose to live affects our health, but there are times that even the most dilligent person that watches how they live, gets struck down. At one time or another, we all get sick, and one day may need a prescription drug to help us. In that case, for whatever reason, don't refuse the help that prescription drugs can give, though to be cautious on the prescription is a good idea, and the side affects it may cause. However, overall, if it can help, allow it.

I read the markup on prescription drugs and I positively was appaled that the drug companies would mark up the drugs that much.To think of so many folks going without everything else because they needed the prescription. As for WalMart $4.00 a prescription indeed would help many folks. It needs to be nationwide.

Just one of my post-transplant anti-rejection drug is $646 at Walgreens when billed to Blue Cross and $846 when billed to Medicare (of which I must pay 25%). And that's just one drug! I can order the same drug online for about 1/2 and go to Canada (if I don't get caught) and get it for even less.

The prices of prescription medications are outrageous. The problem however, lies mostly with the insurance companies. I don't understand how one ins. co can charge you a certain amount and another charge you significantly more.
I'm a nurse, and some of the meds we prescribe are high for our pain management patients. There are programs to get them directly from the manufacturer but you'd have to almost give your firstborn child and live below the poverty level to receive them.

I think the insurance companies contract the medicine price. I know that Congress is trying to pass a bill that will allow Medicare to compare drug prices and choose the best one. As for giving away my first-born child...he's been a horse's ass lately and so he could be traded for medication. They'd send him back to me anyway with a lifetime supply of the anti-rejection drugs to boot if I kept him! Just kidding...maybe...I am running low on my Myfortic and Prograf.

Just checked NYSE numbers for Walmart. Currently at $48.36 a share, down -0.29 from it's opening high of $48.60 (although it did go to $48.13)at one point. I don't think it's suffering too badly.
