Just because Boeing outsold Airbus in 2006 (the first time in five years)does not mean that Boeing is better. As a pilot, I would rather solve an inflight problem on an Airbus than a Boeing anytime. Well said!

At least we are fighting the war on terrorism with an all-volunteer force. What the hell are the cowards in France doing about terrorism? Surrendered already? War on terrorism? Funny. Bush kisses Saudis' ass for oil and Obama is a closeted Muslims. Period.

It is comforting to know that the USA has has chosen Airbus to supply their refuling tanker aircraft. The USA has sense. They choose the best.

I simply don't care what Steve thinks - he's wrong, that's all I know. I am persistent because I am right and you just refuse to admit it. It is hard for Americans to enjoy 'apples' when they have 'sour grapes' in their mouths these days. It boils down to the fact that USAF is using AirBus A 330 for its mid-air refueling tanker. Very patriotic indeed! LOL

Susan wrote: If it aint Boeing, I'm not going. I still have my faith in the Boeing planes, and from what I've heard about the Airbus A320's and the past landing gear problems from their design, you can keep their fly by wire only technology. I prefer that the pilot can override the computer like in the Boeing planes...... OK Susan what about the A320? Enlighten us please. Anything of recent, unsolved would be must appreciated. Meanwhile, since you have so much confidence in Boeing reassure me of the unresolved issues regarding the rudder problems of the 737, and the still unresolved double engine response/failure of the 777 at Heathrow.

LOL George Bush is punishing a Blue State (Washington) and rewarding a Red State (Alabama). There's no more to it than that. You foreigners are clueless as to how decisions are made here.

Guess we shouldn't start with Vietnam since thats been swept under the carpet. Maybe you can explain why you attacked Irag? Maybe you can explain also how you can drag down your economy by lending money below prime rate with no down payment and expecting people to honour their loan. Please explain that one to us who don't understand your decisions! Sorry but we are really clueless to your strategy. Sorry but us clueless foreigners see you as losers. Nice knowing you.

Follow the money. Plenty of people get rich off of wars. Look at all the no-bid contracts in Iraq and lack of accountability of the money. These wars drag on forever because there's no motivation for ending them. With the sub prime mortgages, the loan agents and real estates agents got hefty commissions selling over priced real estate to people who wouldn't otherwise qualify for a mortgage, and then selling the mortgages off as AAA rated securities, since they were "back up" by real estate. It worked pretty well for a while, but like any other ponzi scheme, the ones who got caught holding the mortgage paper got burned.

China is not only sells the US an increasing amount of goods but also lends it the money to finance its spending. China now holds hundreds of billions of dollars worth of US Treasury bonds: with a floating yuan, it has no pressing need for them. A sell-off by the Chinese authorities, or just the hint of one, would almost certainly send the dollar spiralling down and force up interest rates in order to finance the ballooning US budget deficit. The result could easily be a full-blown US recession, which would have severe consequences for the rest of world. US policy-makers could consider this advice: when in a hole, stop digging.

China is not a problem at all. China is giving the US enough rope for them to hang themselves. China is clever and like you say, more or less hold the US by the balls now. I guess they are examining their options now, before deciding to pull the plug; the moment isn't ripe yet. Maybe when the US are even more deeply involved in another conflict and their budget goes further in the red. When the time of their choosing comes, China will drop a bombshell and scupper the US economy in one go!! I guess China is examining the time when it can act with minimum damage to itself and maximum commotion for the US economy. China will be the next superpower, the US WERE the last one.

The problem is ...now many countries including EU, Canada and Asian countries are no longer interested to peg their currency to dollar. In fact, they 'lock' their money and disassociated themselves from dollars. It seems US is a lone ranger these days.
