last week I won a sploder online for a decent price, I live 100 miles away from the nearest yard so its cheaper to get a bum car then drive there every auction!! I looked online, I saw what the damage was, tried to look for clues for certain things and made my purchase KNOWING it is a salvage auction, if the sploder was that nice it wouldnt have been totalled! I made my best guess and rolled the dice. I ended up with a lower milage, fairly clean daily that needs a dent pulled out. No, by looking online I didnt know the suv would smell like dog and there would be dog hair all over the interior, I didnt know the water temp gauge wouldnt work and I didnt know it needed an oil change BUT I also didnt know there would be Dealership records from the last 15 years of all maintance or that the previous owner, beside being a dog lover had taken such good care of the truck :)
its a gamble doing it online, its a gamble even looking in person, its a salvage auction. If they had to go thru every car with a fine tooth comb it would cost a lot more, like a dealership!

My ins. co had a vehicle towed there. I had alot of things in the vehicle. There is no security. My ins. company said i could take all my things out.. tools, gps computer etc. about $5000.00 worth of stuff.. I go there to get it all and it was all stolen. the toolbox that was in the back of vehicle could not be lifted out of truck except if it was a forklift.. and ya guess what no one knows who took it... and all they would give us was $1200.00. it was there responsibilty to keep it safe.. So anyone who has their vehicle towed there.. Good luck

Ive read all the posts here, and I especially liked the one that the copart employee posted hahaha, I'm a professional buyer, been doing it for 30 years, salvage only, and yes most of the what I call (doctored cars) I call them come from dealers, they rig the hell out of cars and trucks, pull frames, paintwork, what ever they can to misrepresent and get more money from the buyers, but boy do I have some stories for you about what I've went thru lol, yes I've been getting screwed by copart since they took over my local yards prob 10 or more years ago, I know for a fact because they told me, that when you put a preliminary bid on something that's usually what you pay, because they make you! And I have been told that I didn't when cars after waiting a week and see them pulling up the driveway with the car and a large bill that I had to pay to keep buying, hell, I even took the name and position of the person that said I didn't win the car, didn't make any difference, the lawrenceburg manager told me it didn't matter who told me I didn't win the car, it was my bill or don't buy anymore, so I came out and ask her, I said to her, I just wanna here you say it, you don't give a fuck about your customers do you? She said, take it anyway you want but your paying or not buying, and we've bought several doctor cars, get them home find tons of hidden damage that was hidden on purpose, when we take them back, the pics they take this time shows that its been doctored and I have to lose money haha, copart only cares about one thing MONEY, and they make it coming and going, I hate this company with a passion, letting out of countries come in and run our prices thru the fucking roof, I could go on and on about how they screw people over, let's just say, if anyone wants to start a class action lawsuit against them I can prob produce at least every buyer I know personally which is quite a few

I got a 2010 Ford F150 from Copart. The deal was $4050 water Flood boy what a deal the car needed $3645 to fix By ME screw the dealer. Truck run and drives nice. RIP for the guy that die in the car. I found out from the paper that was left in the car.Copart sucks ass because some Saudy or Nigerian company buy mass cars and the price is way to much.If you are smart and know how to fix and sell them out of the country you will make $$$$$ one car at a time. Some countries do not care about salvage title. In the desert the title meen nothing.Do not buy and have to deal with the State Police Salvage Title division they suck.A cop that do that is fuking retarded maybe with a bullet up his as.I had the worst inspection ever.Like i was in Jail. ASSOOO. Buy Clean title no worry if you do not know mechanic work.It is a gamble. Insurance scams and try to ask for the Appraisal Report if you can. See the reaction from the Copart facility. they suckkkkkkk.

i won a bid at copart i dont know much about the bidding laws but i do know you cant buy a salvaged car that was deemed total without dealers license unless going through a broker. well i did just that. thing is you have to have a rebuilders license to rebuild the car even though there was very little wrong with the car. it had only minor damage but insurance company had to deem it salvage to get a total loss on it. well next i paid went to pick it up and recieved the title few days later. i found out there was nothing i could do with the car unless i hired a dealer and or a rebuilder to rebuild the car then have it inspected. i called the dmv they said thats right you have to get your license or leave it parked sell it for parts. the dang vehicle is alot better that some cars on the road now. so i had a dealer look at it he said nice car. he wanted it so i asked how much he would give me for it. highest he would go is what i won the bid for . i had to take the offer. ala in all i lost 1500.00 on the deal. i then had to send title odometer and orinal bill of sale back to the copart broker, to have the car reasighned to the dealer i sold the car to. this wasnt an abnorqml thing to them. btw another total fee of 110.00 all together just to have the vehicaL reasined to the dealer i sold the car to.anyways what aqn experience im bankrupt...........

seems there should be a law to protect the consumer also. should be a law for it to be illegal for a broker with dealers license to bid on a car for you, because there are laws saying an unlicensed buyer is stuck if he or she wins a bid on a salvaged vehicle. anyways hire a broker to bid and get a car for you.. but oops if you win the bid park the car and dont drive it

What state r u in? That seems unfair. I thought u just needed a brake and light inspection? I was thinking of joining copart. Is there any better auctions that u recomend?

Auction fees are high, after you bid and buy they try to rip you off by minimum bid price. Total scam
