Yes allot of this stuff is too funny. I have know people who thought up and tinkered with all sorts of whiz bang ideas whom no nothing about quantum mechanics or even basic physics or chemistry.
Ultimately there is only two forms of energy; kinetic and potential. All others are just a "currency" of the two.
There is no perpetual wheel, and never will be. The closest we will ever come to this is nuclear.
Bravo, aptly said-if only those silverspoons would act upon these simple true statements.

Ya know FLY-BOY, you can easily be replaced, especially at your company! VALUE JET!!! AKA Air Tran! A little name change does not hide the fact that you planted one deep in the Everglades, flown by an Eastern SCAB! just ask some of those EASTERN SCAB PILOT collegues of yours, they'll tell you all about it...
I know my place, and I am very happy and comfortable being a F/A. And I'm not drinking the Kool-aid.You don't see me name droppin' and telling dubious stories about passengers I have had onboard my flights.Actually you are the only one on here that does that. Don't you think we've all had dignitaries, politicians, movie stars, etc... Nothin' worse that a neophyte airline pilot, so easily impressed... get over yourself! You're just a pilot. FYI, haven't been on a DC-9, other than a mock-up at recurrent, since 1984!
And Hussein Obama is just another dangerously naive muslim. Am I correct, the left seat pilot on that Value Jet that went down in the Florida marsh was an unqualified female who used her savings as a FA to buy that position. Ok! Go ahead and call me a misogynist MCP. You really know how to try to cut people down. Delta is gonna fix your little apple cart as soon as the dust settles. Let's rock!

I'm afraid to ask but, what makes him "half American"?
You already know the answer to that. I received an email just recently, about the 3rd time, showing Barak Hussein Obama, Bill Richardson, Clinton and Ruth Harkin on a stage where the Pledge of Allegiance was being recited. All stood at rigid attention with their right hands over their hearts.....that is all but Obama who just stood there with his hands folded in front of his crotch. Obama also refused to say the Pledge. And......unbelieveably Richardson indorsed this anti-american muslim. I hope to see this photo on large billboards posted across this great nation.

If we HAD a reasonable alternative to oil (other than nuclear), we'd be using it.
I guess we can all tell who is doing the voting on here!
Oh DAVE, short fat, hated by wife, sweat shop man,(did I get it all right this time?) How about Hydrogen fuel? Ever hear of fuel cells? I guess not... Wal-mart doesn't sell them yet!

Well it appears that you and your pal “the shrub” finally agree on something. He’s been promoting fuel cell research funding and subsidies for quite a while. That said, fuel cells could hardly be considered “a reasonable alternative to oil” While fuel cells sound great, it will be a good long while (if ever) before they put a dent in our oil consumption. Why don’t you trade in that old gas-guzzling hag-magnet the Volvo for one of those silly hybrids? That would help improve the environment and reduce out dependence on foreign oil at the same time!

Why the hateful name calling anyway? All that hate will eat you alive! Do you teach your children (the poor things) that calling people names when they find themselves holding an idiotic position in a discussion they know nothing about is a viable strategy? I feel so sorry for them, their silly old mom, over 50 and still trying to be cool. Hey, perhaps you can show them how you manually inflate the auto-pilot… ;)

Good luck with the vote at Delta, I hope you get everything you want.

One mention of a greasy DC-9, and you went b-b-b-b-berserk-goin off the deep end about crashes and scabs and pilots and dogs and cats living together. I call all of my ole planes I flew a greasy ole 707/10/757...I guess you have issues with that. You kinda went too far there tho. Like I would have any control over things that happened long before I started this type of flying. Tho I have been put in a position here to ensure our training and safety is world class. It would be easier to be just a line holder, but I don't operate at that level. If there's hard work to be done, they know who to call. You should see the evac video we did, the new fa's love it and it is eye-opening for them. Something we aviators never, NEVER do is bad mouth a pilot who died in spite of doing everything she could. It's very unbecoming. You should pick youself up to that standard.

Usin' that Value Jet crash in an argument like this is pretty bad form FS. Scab or no, we can list a number of pretty terrible accidents not flown by scabs, and the result was the same. I can't begin to imagine the terror that crew experienced as they lost physical control of that bird and only had whatever last thoughts that were in their heads before hittin' the swamp. That's one that was not chalked up to pilot error, but some cargo that was not packaged correctly. I saw the interview of the pilot's mother. Pretty sad.

OK Tbone, more directly my point. Liberals like to tell us that a business cannot give it's (airline)employees XMAS off because it is a religious holiday. The big money hog conservative guys(Steenland) say that is a great idea, then we do not have to pay anyone who is forced to work overtime.

Full circle buddy.

Captain, I grew up and was friends with a FA on that flight.

To the less knowledgeable: The problem started with ill paid and non experienced mechanics. It was compounded by a pilot in charge who did not have the flight hours required for that position by a major carrier. She should have put her back on the strip almost after rotation.

The FAA and Congress are also culpable for not forcing the airline to equip the DC9 fleets with modern fire extinguishing technology that was unavailable when the aircraft were built, until after this accident.

I believe this accident is the best example to date of necessity of having a well trained union employees in this safety critical industry. Delta non union status is not a with standing argument, because there wage and safety standards were driven up by necessity to remain competitive with the rest of the legacy carriers, which were union organized prior to Frank Lorenzo.

My point was that being a scab was not the issue in this accident. We all can point to accidents where scabs were not involved. It's just a questionable argument.

These have been around before, but worth reading again.
> > You gotta love maintenance guys' humor

The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by UPS pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked wit h an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, UPS is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident.

As it turns out companies are working on it right now. A great little company right here in Cambridge, MA, as a matter of fact. http://www.nuvera.com/

A little federal funding would go a long way in this respect, but we wouldn't want to hurt the oil companies, now would we?

Funny you should mention the hybrid thing... we're in the market right now! Have a nice day! Love, SHELLY.... now where did I get that one?
