F-in ridiculous - just what the city needs. Another race divided reason for more bullschiet. How about an office of the consulate for ALL of the ILLEGALS... NOT just the Uraguayans... Even better, how about one for ALL of the LEGAL residents of our country! Funny how people want to stop racism, yet they continue to limit things to THEIR particular group, and then wonder why we get mad. Even better - no one does anything about it.

please, i know many of these people personally, as a working mother, who was almost killed by her abusive partner, I was at the shelter for abuse women for my protection and could get no help from the state, another women was there, spoke no English, had five children, all on social security disability, had mass health, section 8 housing, food stamps, the works, she was an undocumented immigrant for Uraguay. I, an American citizen, working to support my two young children, could recieve no help, but she received everything. IT was then that my attitudes changed, I once wore rose colored glasses and believed the system was for everyone who needed it but not to live on. I also know of two other men from Uruguay, who used fake social security numbers for their jobs, claimed 10 dependents on their W4 and of course filed no taxes as they too are undocumented. I hope this liasion helps his fellow countrymen to either leave the US and then enter legally or he reports them to immigration and does not perpetuate the problem Fitchburg has by this huge number of people from Uruguay, who mostly are here illegally.

ok, let's all just keep looking the other way, and pretending that this is not happening - like everything else that happens in ths GOD forsaken city. When are people going to stand up for their rights - and for what is right, and stop letting people from all over the world continue to flood in uncontrolled and destroy up our economy... Soon we will be just like the countries you are all trying to leave, and THEN where will you all go?
Thank you for trashing my home..........

WORK!! Come on now Mark, your missing the point here. Just get them into the country, sign them up for benefits, and we pay forever. Anyone in this country who wants to save what little we have had better get out there and vote REPUBLICAN before it's too late.

Why on earth would you supply these people with legal papers?! Send them back to their country on a one way ticket! it will cost the tax payers far less to ship these people back rather than keep them here and give them everything they want. Thats why immigrants come here..they know they will get a hand out from the government and here is a perfect example.

Dear Mayor,

Our city is in a financial crisis and the state budget continues to bleed red ink.

Might you even consider the possibility that some portion, perhaps a really large portion, of the 5,000 to 6,000 Uruguayan's are here illegally?

Might these illegals be drawing on our scant few tax dollar resources, and are in fact, helping to further drive our city and state to bankruptcy?

As hard working, blue collar, tax paying home owners exit the city, and are replaced by low/no income, non-tax paying, state subsidized, illegal residents, how exactly, does this improve the condition of our community?

How soon can we expect you to add Fitchburg to the national sanctuary city list?

Ms. Mayor? Ms. Mayor?

Typical Massahole! Lets see, if Obama has his way his aunty will be using a drivers license to pick up that welfare check from her subsidized housing.

Uruguay is a relatively prosperous country in South America - not a s---hole like some of the other central and south american countries.

Are we sure that Uruguayans are the problem, or ae we just painting all the "sp-cs" with the same brush?

The Uraguayans (the illegal - Uraguayans) are a HUGE problem in Fitchburg.
Yes, we are sure. Know many of them.... Nice people, but illegal nonetheless.
And again, not all are illegal, but I would put $100.00 that the percentage is well over 1/2 of them!

It's time to take care of our own people. These people have nothing where they live, so again we pay them so they can send money back to their country. Reminds of Puerto Ricians. When will people learn? Sometimes you just have to say NO.
