I find it odd to think that one of the main reasons for settling the US was freedom of religion. The Puritans didn't want to be Catholic or "Church of England" (it wasn't called that 400 years ago), so they fled England in search of a new home--the USA. Then after several decades began the Witch Trials, which frankly went totally against their supposed core values. Freedom of Religion!!!!
