We should have information like this in town. Fun Facts of Ayer. This would have been great for young people to hear and also perhaps invited this gentleman back to Ayer to speak to our kids. I think it's safe to say this guy lived an AMAZING Life even tho' it was cut short.

I grew up with Bill, from Pleasant St. Elementary to Ayer High, off E. Main St.

I remember him broadcasting a high school football game from the rooftop of Ayer High.

I had played the snare drum for St. Mary's Fife, Drum and Bugle Corp and he invited me to go audition on the drums for a band he was trying to put together. Needless to say, I was a flop on the drums but his great talent and determination brought him great success.

I live in Nashville now and actually met Peter Chris (The Catman Drummer) in a restaurant one night (years ago when he was still with KISS) and shook hands with him.

I really didn't know that it was Bill Aucoin who managed them. I wish I would have. I could have had some interesting things to talk with him about Bill.

It was also Bill Aucoin who brought Chuck Berry to Ayer for a dance at the old town hall and Fabian, if any of you remember him. He was a one time flash in the pan.

Sorry to see Bill go.
