Tough one. Yes, perverts should be punished, probation should be replaced with madatory jail time. That said, I know of a person that worked with metally handicapped people. He claimed that a female patient accused him of inappropriately touching her because he would not let her have her way. He was dismissed and arrested. He spoke to a lawyer, state provided, that told him to plead guilty and accept probation. He was told that a trial would greatly increase his chance of going to prison. The jury would sympathise with the girl and most likely find him guilty. He took the lawyers advice but he claims he never touched the girl. I believe him.

I've seen sex offenders on the wall at the police station and after reading their list of offenses, I
wonder what they're doing running loose at all, it's a disgrace. We do need to be very careful of branding people as sex offenders though. Some drunk taking a leak in an alley doesn't deserve a medal, but sometimes we go a bit overboard on that kind of thing while letting the real problems slide. A 16 year old shouldn't be branded a sex offender if he gets caught banging his 15 year old girlfriend, but some of the loons out there would do just that.

Never Ever Admit to doing something you didn't do. That was his first mistake. This is some thing that should have been documented in her file and she will do it agin if she gets another male attendee. This is where HIPA screwed and his lawyer screwed him
