My wife and I recently came across a company who linked us up with a buyer for our timeshare and I know theres alot of complaints about timeshare companies out there, just know they're not all bad. Yes i agree the majority of them are, trust me, I've heard it all, but this company they are a company that is the real deal. We handled the offers and they handled everything else. If you truly want your timeshare gone, I would suggest looking this company up!

I've been trying to sell a property that I have for over 2 years and have had 3 deceptive/wrongful experiences paying up front fees. Your post interests me as this company has contacted me. Can you offer more information? Did they require up front fees?

This company just called me. They say there are no fees for the seller. They are in Altamonte Springs, Fl. They told me they were listed with the BBB. I just checked online and the BBB does not have them listed. With another FL company, I called the Consumer Protection Division. I was told it is illegal in FL to charge an upfront fee to market a timeshare. Joe wrote: <quoted text> Yes, there are many companies in Florida that are pure scams. Just hung up the phone with this company. I got the same sales pitch as Panther...no fees for the seller. Huh?!? That's a first in the timeshare resale industry. So, as a seller what do I really have to lose? Not much that I can see, so I requested for him to e-mail me a contract to review. Will let you all know if anything looks "scammy" in the contract.

My Dad just told me this company contacted him. They have a sure buyer for one of his properties if they can get a bunch of sellers together. However, they told him they need $800 upfront for processing fees, etc. I'll be interested to see what you think about the contract. I don't understand why any fees need to be paid before the closing if they already have a buyer.

I was also contacted 2 wks ago (about same time as others, as it seems by these blogs). They called a 2nd time; lots of pressure; also told me that there is an upfront fee of $800 which tends to make me question the whole deal. I asked for references but he told me to check out the testimonials on their website...yea--right! I'd love to work with them...they gave me a great quote to sell but I'm a leary about it. Also checked BBB and no listing in FL. Love to see more comments.

Just finished a very lengthy high pressure car salesman type conversation with these guys. They claim they are having a corporate event this weekend where they could esily sell my Marriott Desert Springs (Palm Desert CA) for $20,000. I asked how they could get 20K when people are almost giving these weeks away on eBay and other sites. They try to give me some BS line about 100% tax write off for the corporation buyer if done thru them. They have same pitch as another company who claimed that instead of corporate buyers they were having a selling weekend in Orlando for individuals and they already had lots of buyers lined up to buy my week. I paid them and never heard from them again. Chances are if you own a timeshare week, you and your heirs will be stuck with it forever unless you pay someone to take it off your hands. Those companies exist, too and they want a lot of money. I think the last one I talked to was $3000. I would avoid paying any up front fees

We received a call about selling our Marriott timeshare as well and are very concerned about the up-front fee, the Specialty Property Group company. We would also be interested if anyone has anything positive to say or has ever sold. The offer sounds too good to be true and they want up-front money. The whole process does not seem legitimate to us.

Just let a few more messages today, hope it gets better or it will get worse! PS this has been going on for 2 weeks now.

You will never see your money again!! Everyone on this blog should refer to Florida's Attorney General Bill Mc Collum's News Releases. He states "Florida's consumers are trying to make prudent financial decisions, but many timeshare resale companies are blatantly scamming people by promising sales or refunds and failing to provide services even after taking heft up-front fees" 3.11.2010 The newsletter further states that timeshare resale complaints have recently surpassed mortgage-related complaints as the most commonly reported consumer complaints received by the Office's Consumer Hotline. If you have been scammed, you should contact the office. They will assist you.

Got an unsolicited call from this company, Specialty Property Group. Wanted to sell or rent my timeshare in Missouri. Offered a too good to be true price and sent example of contract. When I asked about fees, they wanted $819 up front. When I challanged them on the legality of this they said they have been doing this for years and had to charge to cover the expenses of getting my property in front of buyers. Politely told them to go away and would like to know if in fact it is legal to charge fees before real estate is sold. Thanks to this forum I was aware of the scams that can unfold in this manner.

He's a very slick salesperson who reels people in to take their money. This is just another scam out there. I would highly suggest that you call your credit card company and dispute the charge. He almost sold me on going with them but when I faxed him a copy of the Florida Attorney General's Newsletter regarding time share scams and upfront fees, I never heard from him again. He told me he had 3 offers from a trade show event. It's all garbage and I hope he and his company end up in jail where they belong.

I just received a phone call from SPECIALTY PROPERTY GROUP and spoke to a very fast-talker. I wanted to check the 'reviews' on-line before making a decision so I GOOGLED. I'm glad I did because NO ONE has any good thing to say about their experience, only that the company expects a gi-normous fee. The person I spoke to had an answer for every comment I made. I got the "first 8 properties" speech and was told that I'm one of the 8 and being 9 could not guarantee my property would sell. Buying Time Share was the biggest financial mistake I've ever made and I think Congress should put a stop to this professional con-game which traps so many like myself. I have experienced so-called 'sellers' too many times to count; all with a promise to sell for a price worth a weeks pay. I plan to check the BBB on this myself. Thanks for all the other comments regarding this company. Oh, by the way, there was an echo in the phone so I asked why? You wouldn't believe the answer I got.

I just rec'd a cal from Specialty Property group with an offer to sell my Marriott timeshare for $829 up front. Gave me the same high-pressure pitch as others have noted. I have already been suckered by another company NVSC for $1000 up front and don't even get a call back from them. Specialty Property guy, Steven Taylor, says I can do a dispute with my CC company and recover the cost. Not a bad idea...think I'll give it a try. The Marriott TS is high-quality and makes a lovely vacation but the fees are killing me! brenner53 wrote: My wife and I recently came across a company who linked us up with a buyer for our timeshare and I know theres alot of complaints about timeshare companies out there, just know they're not all bad. Received call from this group - asked questions about timeshare i own; said a manager or someone would get back to me. when this woman called back, i asked if they had upfront fees. was told they were not a listing company. so i asked again, what will you charge me to do what you say you will do, and lo and behold, she hung up on me. that answered all my questions - they are rude, and disrespectful

I received several calls from Speciality Property Group (SPG) with a "too good to be true" offer. I was promised no fees other than the file transfer and recording of the sale fee which totaled $695. I asked for a copy of the contract, which is also posted on their website. Very generic and they wanted the fees upfront paid via a credit card. Based on the warnings, I became hesitant. When Matthew Bailey from SPG called me back and I told him due to the upfront fees I wasn't interested at this time, he hung up in my face. No, he didn't just disconnect the call, he slammed the phone down. If this was a legitimate company, they would still want my business if I later changed my mind. By hanging up in my face, it just goes to show that it is not a legitimate business doing honest sales.
