www.copart.com is not a good place to buy a car or anything.

Recently I bid on and won a car on www.copart.com and I got to see just how bad a company there really are. I believed a television ad that featured well-known drag racers-Kenny Bernstein and his son Brandon Bernstein. Boy-was I taken for a ride to Hell. I used the $1000 they "give" basic members to bid with and found a 1997 Honda Accord, but what happened next I never expected. Kenny and Brandon Bernstein don't tell you in the TV ad that Copart is a "Salvage Yard" they tell you "Where car guys buy cars". I had sold a van on eBay and the gentleman travel about 1000 miles to my home in New Mexico to get it. I figured that I could do something similar concerning this Honda Accord. I "hired" an inspector they recommended on their website (www.copart.com ) and he looked at the car for me and emailed me that it ran well. You see Copart advertises some of their cars as "Runs and Drives", but their definition of "Runs and Drives" is not what you think. Anyway I payed $75 for an inspection. To make my story short-I traveled to another state to get the car and it was nothing like I expected. I arrived shortly after they opened the doors and my car would not start. I soon saw them bringing the car to the shop area with a forklift! I thought to myself "Good grief. What the Hell have I got myself into!" The office manager looked at me with a worried look and she said "I am not sure if we have ever had anyone drive a car out of here. I am not sure if it is even legal." I told her sure it is "'All I have to do is get an 'In Transit' permit and then I can return to New Mexico legally.'" She didn't even know if Copart had ever had a car leave their yard under its own power! While waiting to see if they could charge the battery some 'professional' buyers from a nearby used car lot spoke with me and said "We have been screwed by these guys (Copart) before and I bet the mechanic you hired never inspected the car." I ended up leaving the car at the Copart facility and returned home empty-handed. I made some videos and put them on Youtube and just a few hours later started receiving phone calls from Copart executives asking me to please tell them how they could make me happy and asking me to please remove the videos. Nothing came from the phone conversations and I still do not have the money I lost in the deal. My problem with Copart is still not resolved and my videos can be seen on Youtube, Metacafe and Dailymotion. All you have to do is Google "Copart Scam" and you will find a wealth of information on their deceptive ways of doing business. My mistake was not doing that search before I spent my money. I trusted Kenny and Brandon Bernstein and lost money because of it. I do not believe Kenny or Brandon would ever buy a car from Copart but they want us to. Copart never revealed to me the owner of the car. I found that out when I saw it on the title. The previous owner of the 1997 Honda Accord (Lot#16358300 was "Junk A Car Auction LLC". If I had know that I would have never bid on the car. In Realestate Contracts that is called "Non-Disclosure". I am not an attorney and Copart has plenty of attorneys. I guess when they tell you "As Is" that is the same as telling you "Beware you are on your own if you get a bad deal." I say there a lot better places to buy a car and Copart is not a "user friendly" company to by cars from. If Copart was a hamburger joint they would be go out of business in a short time because their food stinks and their service is even worse. Christopher Barton-a top executive at Copart Headquarters phoned me and promised me he would "make it right". He has never phoned me back and has done nothing to solve the problem. If the head of customer service Christopher Barton did this to me then what kind of customer service is to be expected by those that work for him? Please Google "Copart Scam" and watch the videos. Spread the word "Copart is not a good company to spend money at. Stay away from www.copart.com ".

I bought an office trailer/mobile at
Copart, boy, they put all the JUNK at the facility into trailer/mobile home. It happened at the Newburgh facility. I have the before and after pictures.

Copart is the worst place to buy cars! Vehicles do not come as advertised!!! they take advantage of buyers all they care about is making money, once you receive the car and you see that its nothing like the pictures and what it was listed as It's too late. Please for your own good do some research first.

I bought a chevy cavalier 98 5 years ago and car is running perfectly I got a run & drive car with an undercarriage damage, this was only the cooling and ac radiator and frame, I changed 3 of them with 300 usd and paid 600 for car I think it is a good deal for a car that still running today with minimum maintenance as tune up, and oil change. Copart works in my opinion.

I have bought many cars from copart and it is buyer beware.You look at pictures and make a decision to buy or not buy.Other wise you make the trip and look at it in person.I will say this is wouldn't drive a 1000 mile to by Honda thwt is supposed to run and drive.

I have purchased several cars at Copart, and can prove that Copart is SOMETIMES complicit in scamming buyers. They helped a BIG seller concile the fact that air bags had been deployed on a Jeep. I would never buy a car thru Copart being sold by a dealer. They do BAD repairs on "totalled" cars then Copart helps them sell these to unsuspecting buyers. Stay away from Copart!

bad experience to but car from copart.i bought car that showing everything good after bought found transmission problem.i spend three thousand on it,and before that i bought tow truck same thing ifound after bought enine block crack ,pls dont buy any car from copart,

i bought a 95 integra at copart and it was supposed to start up fine they took the car out with a forlift and dropped it hard and messed the shocks and springs up. also the car didnt start it had somehow rocks in the engine and when they tried to start it it bent valves and all that stuff. they didnt do anything i had to replace everything not a good source to buy a car

Copart is as racket for sure. I bought an 04 Sebring, knew it needed engine work. After the idiot illegal running the "forklift" loaded it, it also needed suspension parts, and a front bumper and $40 license plate bracket. I complained and they said "cars get moved around a lot here." Their fees are ridiculous, a $1050 car turned into a $1500 car. They charge for loading (damaging) the car, they charge an internet bidding fee also.(How else do you bid?)A $425 car turns into a $676 car.

Copart is a big scam if you willing to give ur money away buy a car from them the cars are nothing like the pictured they put I bought a car they took a picture of it it looks minor repair when I got it the whole frame from both front ends was damaged they bunch of scammers do not buy anything from this company

I agree with everyone I will never ever buy a car from this company they are scammers not honest stay away from them it's going to cost you more than buying a brand new car dealing with them because you going to spend a lot of money fixing mine as well go to dealer and buy a car

Bought a motorcycle thru a broker from Copart in northern Kentucky. Manager was the most rude person I have ever met. Charged so many fees that I was really pissed. Charged eighty dollars loading fee that my son & I loaded by hand. Young fellow at the loading point told us that they tried to rip-off everybody. Also bought a semi thru same broker that was suppose to be road ready (X Roadway) Had to have it towed home at a cost of one thousand dollars. Never again.

Scammers,cheaters,bunch of mafia, I do not know how the government let them work and give them licenses,do not waste a breath with them they worthless I lost 15500$ with them I bought a car nothing like what they showed in the picture I called em bunch of scammers and rude people stay away from this company everybody please they are bad news I'm trying to call CNN to make a report about this fake, liar, company

I once bought a car from copart the Lufkin, TX facility and the car was complete. When I got the car the hood was missing so I as asked them about it they said they didnt know where it was. If your not carefull they will steal parts from the cars after you buy them.

The Co-Part company is a SCAM!!! Stay away from it!! We bought a car fron Rancho Cucamond,CA and it was a real dummy, a lot of parts were missing! Nothing like it was on the picture. They made a car look like it was a small damage but it was a lot more then it looked like. Some parts were from different car, It says: "runs and drives" but car wasn't drivable, radiator was damaged and some other vital parts too....I will never buy from them again!! Horrible company!
