Tricky question. Faith can sustain people through hardship & turmiol, yet faith taken to extreme is dangerous. Is this to include Atheist who pray,but not to god? Or Satanist, who pray to Lucifer the Fallen? Even Nihilism the belief in nothing, is still a belief in something. I would say yes, but not necessarily prayer. Anything that gives you solace in times of strife is good.

Our Lord's Prayer
(The Our Father)
Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On earth as it was in Heaven.
Give us this day
Our daily bread;
And forgive us our tresspasses
As we forgive those
Who tresspass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Correction: trespass, trespasses

Thank you for your kind consideration.

I have to crack up. The people that believe in their WIZARDRY IN THE SKY, have the chutzpah to criticize those that believe in witchcraft or palm readings... Are they for real? I think they are all just as silly as the next. I will continue to believe in myself... Thats where my power lies , not from any unproven external influences.

Nothing wrong in believing in yourself.. If anything that is a good thing. I tell my grandson to think for himself. to believe in himself. But also there is a bigger force then we are and we must put our faith in God. What can it hurt? God is in each of us, we just need to listen with our hearts. we each have a different reason why we are here. I do not think it is right for anyone of us to judge others.. If you do not believe, that is what you are. Does'not make you a bad person... And if you do believe, does'not make you a fool or someone with low self esteem. We are who we are. Why can't people just respect that????

Gospel - Lk 18-1:8

1 And he spoke a parable to them, that we ought always to pray, and not faint,
2 Saying: There was a judge in a certain city, who feared not God, not regarded man.
3 And there was a certain widow, in that city, and she came to him, saying. Avenge me of my adversary.
4 And he would not for a long time. But afterwards he said within to himself: Although I fear not God, nor regard man,
5 Yet because this widow is troublesome to me, I will avenge her, lest continually coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said: Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And will not God revenge his elect who cry him day and night: and will he have patience in their regard?
8 I say to you, that he will quickly revenge them. But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth.

Remember to pray. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing that God will answer.

Prayer doe's work. We just aren't alway's present when they occur. Beside's even if you don't believe in prayer what can it hurt to send some possitive energy toward's other's.

Rent the DVD "What the Bleep do we know".....which is about Quantum Physics. It discusses the change in the molecular structure of a drop of water after a prayer has been said over it. Amazing. Prayer does work, no question.

Hello everybody! Today is the First Sunday of Advent. Here's the Daily Readings, Sunday, November 29, 2009 according to the Gospel of Lk 21:25-28, 34-36

25 And there will be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars. And there will be on earth, distress among the Gentiles, out of confusion at the roaring of the sea on the waves:
26 men withering away out of fear and out of apprehension over the things that will overwhelm the whole world. For the powers of the heavens will be moved.
27 And they will see the Son of man coming on a cloud, with great power and majesty.
28 But when these things begin to happen, lift up your heads and look around you, because your redemption draws near.
34 Be attentive to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts may be weighed down by self-indulgence and inebriation and the cares of this life. And then that day may be overwhelm you suddenly.
36 And so, be vigilant, praying at all times so that you may be held worthy to escape from all these things, which are in the future, and to stand before the Son of man.

Its a placebo effect at best. If prayer worked religious folks would never die. Think about it.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Sagittarius

Pay attention to your health as the Moon enters Taurus and your sixth house of health and service today; it might be time for a check up. With Neptune and Jupiter in your third house, nervous tension could be leading you into bad habits that will undermine your health. If you feel stressed out, reach for your athletic shoes instead of a double martini and you'll be happy with the results.
