Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Before prayer will be affective men must turn from their wicked ways, unless it is a prayer of repentance. Repentance must come first and the acceptance of Christ who taught us all truth, evil and good that we should turn from evil and serve only that which is good "GOD".

What is the LAW???

Mathew 7:12 Therefore (((all things whatsoever))) ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for THIS IS THE LAW and the prophets.

Galatians 5:13,14-26 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For ALL THE LAW is fulfilled in ONE WORD, even in this; (((Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself))).

Mathew 25:40 Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me (The Lord).

Mathew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Mathew 13:11.......Because it is given unto you to know the Mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven........Luke 17:22-24; 1 John 3:2,3

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Hi, "LEEANN"! That's... a good question!

Prayer is always good. Take time to pray and understand the truth, and let the Holy Spirit work in your heart. May praise him alone, may seek him alone and follow him more closely. "Let it be the fixed and purpose in your life; the great object of your prayer, that God be magnified in your body" (Phil 1:20).

there have been studies on prayer - specifically praying for a loved one to get better from some ailment. Every study of prayer has come out the same. You have a the same chance of something happening whether you pray for it or not.

Nope. Prayer can offer a moment of silent reflection on your problems which is needed sometimes but as for some omni-potent being answering them, the chances are highly improbable.

Here is a scientific study.

"Conclusions
Intercessory prayer itself had no effect on complication-free recovery from CABG, but certainty of receiving intercessory prayer was associated with a HIGHER incidence of complications."

To be serious, I do not pray. Prayer is a way to ask God to change his decisions. God knows more than I do. I accept his decisions.

Another very good links "Hagen". Indeed, there is such thing as "faith-healing" through prayers and trust in God. Thank you very much for the sharing...

But of course Mishka, pleased to meet you too ;) I just happened to be challanged by a very rude person on another forum about the same subject. I thought, what a coincedence that it should pop up as a forum the same day. LOL

Believe me or not, "Hagen"! In the Philippines where I come from, we even hire somebody to pray for us for the living and the departed souls. They also lead us to prayer for a donation because that's also their means of living. In another city, there are "Sinulog" dancers who are selling candles and with the candles you bought they dance and pray for your request and worship to God. Whenever I visit home, I never miss to to go there again.

Daily Horoscope for November 28

Aquarius

With so much to do and so much on your mind, you may feel scattered today. It will be easy to forget dates and appointments, so consider setting an alarm to remind you of important meetings. You may be a bit over-extended and preoccupied at the same time. The telephone may be ringing constantly, providing yet another distraction. Try to focus.
