I feel strange for typing this but...I held the belief, white people never worked for or were deserving of anything. Just because of their skin color, they received jobs, went to illustrious schools, received movie roles, news broadcasting, commercial casting, even musical popularity w/ very poor talent. It saddened me that the only reason white people had what they had was because how bright their skin was...White privilege is rather pathetic. It wasn't until a white man died saving my life when our workplace caught on fire, I dispelled my belief. We're all the same. Doesn't matter if it's BoDiddly or Elvis. It's historical music. Black artists should feel proud their sheer, authentic talent was copied. Time and talent don't lie. People do.

By the way, I'm not a racist. I'm fine with light-skinned people. I just feel white privilege is apparent, obvious, and insidiously pathetic; a bit comical if you will.

My mother lived this wonderful era of music. The 40s and 50s were a fantastic time for music. Yes, the negro artists developed better music but, in those times, white artists were placed upon pedestals. She said all of us white kids knew but we just went along with the flow. 'Don't by Lil Walter's My Babe. Purchase Elvis's 'My Babe' even though he stole the song from Little Walter, a negro harp player.

Probably why elvis presley died such a horrible death. He was a thief.

I think Michael Jackson is a better musician and entertainer than Elvis. I don't hate Elvis it's impossible to hate someone you don't know. I'll only speak of him as an entertainer and not judge him personally. I won't even judge Michael Jackson personally either.
