I have to say, though, that I would never refer to myself as a "White Native American" as it is an oxymoron. I refer to myself (regardless of being over a quarter Irish) as Native American and ONLY Native American. For anyone to suggest that I am anything other than that is ludicrous, especially considering how prominent my family has been and still is in the tribe.

The Algonquins of the northeastern US also have genetic markers that are found in only certain Europeans populations. Squanto was an Algonquin.
