To be brutally honest I think we've all had gay thoughts. To act out the thought is when problems begin, however.

but for the people who have acted on those thoughts...should they be treated like they are different then the people who had the same thoughts but didn't act on it..

I think that their having chosen to act out their thoughts actually DOES make them different. They should not be discriminated against, however.
