where are good places to meet normal, nice single men ages 25-45. i am a single 30-yr-old woman. and please don't suggest bars or clubs. ugh! tried it. results were horrible!

actually, try pet shops, movie theatres, and grocery stores. Look for single dads, if kids don't bother you. They're normally ok people. The settled ones, not the baby daddy ones. Always the chance of damaged goods, but it beats hooking up from a bar.

well kids don't bother me. i have two of my own being recently divorced. i live in a small town with about 3500 people so that is my biggest setback. i could never go to the movies alone. i guess i have a complex :) I'm in the grocery store alot and its always women shopping. I'm destined to be single forever. it's kinda depressing really. maybe i should become a lesbian. i get hit on by more women than men! lol

Try volunteer work - including things outside your community sometimes. You could try volunteering at aschools too - maybe there is a single teacher or two.

Also, wine tastings, art shows, events that might attract someone who isn't into the average singles bar/tavern scene.

I don't know. Art shows may yield your typical pretentious ass. Wine tastings? Well, then you run the risk of alcoholics hiding behind sophistication. Volunteer work? Could work, but remember orange vest often equal community service. Hope&Chance? Hopeless romantic mindset, but it does happen. Church? High probability of atonement&guilty conscience.
