Thomas Jefferson thought so.

I should say you need the history book, my friend. There is more than enough evidence to show that the southwest was in fact stolen from Mexico...
If you start reading the history book from the beginning, you will see that the Mexicans stole what is now Mexico from the Aztecs.

Actually, it was the Spanish that conquered the Aztecs, partly because they didn't realize the importance of working together. As I am sure you are aware Spain had vast holdings in North America west of the Mississippi River. Of course, the Louisianna Purchase transferred a lot of that to the US. That did not include the southwest...we just took that later.

Let's not even get started on the numbers of indigenous groups that the US basically ran over to settle the West with no thought of the consequences, but that's another thread for another day.

Borders should be colsed thight not only in Mexico, but everywhere. The Mexican government should nationalize the oil fields and use the revenue for the good of its own people like they are doning now in South America.

Also sex education and birth control advise on how to reduce the massive births of children parents cannot care for would be a good idea.

The EUC should be an axample as to why people moving from one country to another is not such a good idea as it disrupts everything.

Granted, we did purchase a little in what is now Arizona (Gadsden Purchase). Research the annexation of Texas and the US need to expand at all cost into California.
And for your information America is a nationality, not a race. There is no race called America, which was my original point. I would also contend that getting into the country in the era you mentioned was much easier, so there was less need to find alternative ways to enter the US. I can't even imagine what the wait is for legal immigration.
I am so NOT interested in the whining masses crying about how we "stole" California. There was a war. They lost and we won. If they had won, we'd be speaking Spanish.

California may have been part of Mexico in theory, but it was never the case in reality. They never actually had control of the territory for the almost twenty-five years of ownership. There were always more American landowners here. Besides, if you don't pay your military for five years, it is difficult to expect them to defend your territory. It all it took to "steal" California was a small exploratory part, John Sutter, and a flag at the top of a hill with a bear that looked more like a pig. We were at the top of the hill and the Mexicans were at the bottom. They never even tried to storm the castle.

Two weeks ago California was complaining that they didn't have enough mexican workers because of the bad publicity the illegals got. Today California wants Federal money to pay minimum $450.00/per Wk. to these illegals to keep them in California until the next picking season at the same time the pickers who are not illegals will get $200.00 a week from unemployment! Sounds right to ME!

The person with the brains is the one who figures how to give the land back to the Indians without any Europeon or Mexicans decendents or immigrants on it.

Less than three percent of the people who come to California illegally from Mexico are actually even seasonally employed in agriculture. I grew up in the Central Valley, and I can tell you there just are not all that many crops left that are picked by hand.

I have never whined about it. When you come into an area that already has a group of people and you run them out of the area to claim is as your own, what would you call it? I call it the settling of America.

Are you saying it must be built because you agree or because the President signed the bill?

The federal governemt passes laws all the time without making a provision for funding. I'm not saying it's the case this time, but it does happen.

Also, let's not get started on the numbers of indigenous groups that Mexico is running over today. Mexico City is built upon the ruins of the culture it's grandfathers destroyed.

Accurate, but what's the point? My original point, though posted mostly in jest, was that we are angry for people coming into our country when we did the exact same thing.

Now before you say a favor open borders with no controls, I don't. Anyone wanting to come to this country should follow the proper channels. Of course, I think the path should be a lot easier. My point is stop thinking that the US isn't as culpable.
