Ira,

Great article. You've summed up what us Blazermaniacs believe and hope will transpire over the course of the next few seasons. The Blazer's goal next year must simply be to make the playoffs so that they can garner playoff experience. It will not be until the following year that this team will likely content for the Western Conference Championship and anything thereafter.

The future is indeed bright here in Portland. And, the brightness starts with world-class people on and off the court, and ends with world class talent. Portland seems to have some of both.

Nice article; Portland has a bright future.

I believe they were the 3rd youngest team of ALL TIME, not just out of last season. They were the youngest team of the 2007-08 season, but 3rd youngest of all time.

Not that it matters; they is young good boys who should make for a good team of basketeers.

Just for the record, the Blazers were the 3rd youngest team in all-time league history and the youngest for 2008. The future is indeed bright.

Slight correction.....The Blazers had the third youngest team in NBA history this season. They were by far the youngest in the league this year.

Trade Webster to the heat for alexander johnson, chris quin you get a solid pg and a beast when given the chance staying young and after what they went through this could be thier break out game.

The Blazers are built around world-class kids, not just world-class athletes. Team chemistry is phenominal; they truly like each other as players and people.

It's so refreshing to watch these guys, especially when we suffered through the dark days of the JailBlazers. The young guns are the toast of the town and next season will be really exciting...

This is right on. As a Blazer fan, I see a very bright future ahead of the team. And most of the credit should go to the new GM, Kevin Pritchard--one of the classiest guys you'll ever meet.

Great article.

One correction: Portland was the 3rd youngest team in NBA history and the youngest team in the league this season. Just proves your point even more.

From a life long fan & Portland native, I can confirm that the city is abuzz about our Trail Blazers. From owner to usher, they are on the right track. It's the stuff in the middle that gets us excited; Players, Coach, GM. As GM Pritchard says, "the cake is made, it's in the oven, now we just need to let it bake....and then we can put some icing on it"-referring to cap space (Chris Paul is the pipe dream often mentioned).

trensaun:

Martell for who? Doubtful, maybe Jack,#13, our 3 2nd rounders, MAYBE Frye or Martell, and McRoberts for your first round pick and we'll have a deal. The only thing we need now is Derrick Rose to come home to the Rose Garden.

Good article, but one thing needs to be corrected that makes the Blazers season even more impressive. . . The Blazers didn't have the third youngest roster last season. It was the youngest in 2007-08 and third youngest in the history of the NBA.
