If they can do this, then why can't they pay student-athletes? It just seems ridiculous that a school can pay students way to go to a game such as this, which would probably have a $1,500 value, but it can't give a stipend to players.

Umm, the student-atheletes are getting free lodging, free airfare, and the opportunity to play in the Sweet 16. How is that not justice?

oops, I forgot a couple of things... the student-atheletes are getting to watch and PLAY in the Sweet 16 while also getting free room and board along with a free education. Man, student atheletes get the shaft, don't they?!?!?!?!

Yep, the student-atheletes are getting totally ripped off for this one! They only get to watch the Sweet 16, while sitting in the best seats in the house for free - and if they're not watching they're actually PLAYING IN THE SWEET 16. What a horrible deal!

They get free airfare, food, lodging during their stay. They get a full medical staff for free. They get all of this while also getting free room and board, free fod (again), along with a free education. Man, the NCAA really gives student atheletes the shaft, don't they?!?!?!?! Wow, its gotta suck being a student athlete! I'd rather have $100,000+ in loans to pay when I graduate!

For $41000 a year, the trip is the least they can do. It's a Liberal Arts school. Not even a degree that gets you a career.

It's amazing how people who know nothing about a school can actually comment. I am a Davidson Graduate and no athlete at Davidson places athletics first. Do your research and you'll see the caliber of education Davidson College provides its graduates. It's not about the money. The majority of students could afford to go without any assistance(I would not be in this category). How many schools in this era requires students to live on campus? This is the intimacy that Coach talks about. Do your research.
