Maybe if Rudy didn't dog it and coast through the 2006 tournament, he could return and see another banner hanging from the rafters

I agree somewhat....there is the unfortunate reality of injuries in college hoops.....I think Gay played a little too conservative for fear of losing everything to an ACL....

No. Gay just wasn't a good ball handler in college and didn't really know if he was a guard or a forward. If you watch him in the nba, you see how nice his jumpshot got and how he is still learning how to play. He still hasnt come close to reaching his potential and he is already averaging 20 per game in the nba.

gay could have been so dominate at Uconn instead he was concentrating more on the NBA. Although i admire him comming back and showing support for the program, i still cant believe how the Uconn team didnt win it all that year

Gay had nothing to do with the stolen laptops incident at Uconn.

You made you point Skippy, you're not a fan of the program. Now go spread your misery on some other board.

Ah, another person from out of state who feels compelled to rain on UCONN's parade for no valid reason. Perhaps Joe should check the rap sheets on Michigan and Michigan State players. Oh, and then tell us how well each of the two schools has done the past ten years in pretty much any sport you want to name.

This article was about players coming back to UCONN to show their respect for the program and their past Coach, who is going through a difficult time. Why are there so many cynical people out there who feel the need to find something to berate in everthing they read.

I happen to think it's pretty amazing that 40 past UCONN players will be back in CT this weekend - their experience here couldn't have been all that bad.

Of course it wasn't a bad experience... free school, room and board. Travel the world. No responsibility or accoutability.

Best of all - only 1 in 10 finds the need to graduate.

A 4 year free party? What's not to like?

How about the millions of dollars the schools, NCAA and networks are making off these kids each year? Do you think the NCAA and universities really care who graduates? They threaten a scholarship or two once in a while but it’s just a bunch of lip service. If these kids are not good enough for you then stop watching.

No need to watch - you can follow them easily by reading the Police blotters.

Joe...you are on fire, dude. Have you thought about going on that new show "Last Comic Standing" You would rock!!

Or perhaps at least to go see your doctor..you know they have now designated addiction to the Internet as an illness. Given your incessant message board postings its apparent you have an affliction...you probably qualify for some sort of state medical aid for this as its pretty apparent your are presently unemployed. Good luck with your treatment.

Jim Calhoun is a special person and coach and he deserves respect. Rudy Gay was on a 2006 team that was very deep and everyone was a threat on the team so you can't put the blame just on him. This is a wonderful story and it's good to see even those who didn't graduate care so much for the UConn program. That should tell you a lot about the impact that the UConn program had on these individuals. I know there are always going to be those who say negative things about certain teams or players but I guess that's just the way things go. I understand that we should listen to people's opinion but when the only thing you say is negative then you do not deserve respect. I hope this is a good year for the program and they are able to get the recruits they are looking at.

Joe, this calls for another reference to the stolen laptops incident a few years ago, let's have it.

Ucon lost in 2006 because Mason was playing before a home crowd and recieved the benefit of numerous bad calls down the stretch. They also were about three years older per man than Uconn.
