Full story: Chicago Tribune

I'm closing my eyes and trying, really trying, to picture what happened during Kobe Bryant 's 61-point game Monday night at Madison Square Garden , remembering what happened 14 years ago when Michael Jordan ...

L-O-L The Knicks fans have been watching the PUTRID Knicks teams for so long, they cheer opposing players "Torching" their own team. I don't call that sophfistication, just the opposite. If Lebron James came into the stadium and dropped "70" on the Bulls, I wouldn't be cheering him. I 'd expect "Noch" to plant him into the 1st row, the first chance he got.
Knick fans are "tools". They should go to 1- of those over-priced Broadway plays, instead of cheering the opposing players, while THEIR team get "Scorched" night in and night out.

There is no comparison. The Knicks were a much better team in 1995 than they are now. Enough said.

glad to see somebody that agrees with me. back then they had starks and ewing. there isnt a player on the knicks now who has even half of the talent as either one of them.

Nobody had more rejections at MSG than Isaiah Thomas. All by the female staff.

yeah its always better in the old days.

give me a break. Jordan didn't play that long ago, he didn't face defenses that were any better than they are today.

Now maybe if you go back to Magic and Bird but things really haven't changed since the 90's i'm sorry...

Jordan is the man and always will be. As far as defense, it was better when MJ played. Kobe is great don't get me wrong. I didn't like him his first few years, but he's good. Lebron is a power house that can't be stopped. If he had played in the early 90's with better centers or big men he would not have done as well.

yeah ditto;

steveo, you're a complete moron.

hand checking was legal in the 90's, and they literally had jordan defences (he changed the game) which would cause many more injuries and more physical play.

Its hard for me to watch basketball now because it looks like the players just run alongside the offense trying to get a hand on the ball rather than physically preventing penetration.... its pretty weak and easy to score in comparisson. Shit, just compare highlights from 10 Kobe games with highlights from 1 Jordan game in his prime... no contest.

what an idiot. the league is softer than ever with all these lame "hand check" rules and the incessant flopping and faking.

Comparisions like this are pointless. Different era, different types of athletes, different game. These players were/are all great for the era in which they played. Even more pointless when the discussion is limited to games played against a single team at a certain arena.

That is true the Knicks that I grew up man this guys used the elbows knees playing dirty.. Those were the New York Knicks they were the Thugs of the 80's and 90's they were mean rude and ruthless always picking at the weaker teams always giving good teams a run for their money

Michael was awsome; but Kobe and Lebron are right there, just need more time. Michael and Lebron have lifted bad teams to greatness so it feels better too, the expectation for a Championship program is much less appreciated, so Kobe will never be fully appreciated. Fact is, Kobe can do everything Michael could do and has to play more defense, and isn't going against man-to man all day with isolation.
