Minnesota Timberwolves again show that no lead is safe

With a weary look on his face Wednesday night at Target Center, Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis offered up the bleak reality of an alarming trend his team just can't stop. Full Story

Coaching the Minnesota Timbermutts isn't quite the same as coaching the Lakers, Kurt. In fact, coaching the Timbermutts isn't quite the same as coaching an authentic NBA basketball team. Go back West, young man, and salvage your professional coaching career.
Try not to take the Mutts' inept performances personally, Kurt. The franchise was doomed the moment owner Glen Taylor hired Kevin McHale and they signed Joe Smith to an illegal contract and then wasted a #1 draft choice on Ndudi Ebi. No, I'm not making this up, Kurt: McHale really thought that Ebi was a better NBA prospect than the available Josh Howard.
Good luck, Kurt, and please tell Scarlett Johansson that I'm available. For anything.

Utah leads 108 : 107 our "brilliant" coach calls time out. Last few plays KBeasley scored at will, he was our go to guy and he delivered. Great coach of ours draws the play for MWebster to shoot a three even there was enough play to go for two, and MWebster misses what a surprise, he runs back and makes silly foul yeah our veteran guy and Utah scores three points. Anyway, lets repeat myself our point guards are DISASTER, LRidnour PLEASE,PLEASE go wherever you came from. You are insult to NBA game. We need veteran point guard thats it. And hey, new coach as well almost forgot this one.

It is knucklehead basketball, over and over. I know it's easy to be an armchair critic, but something isn't connecting here. Let me ask you: in the last minute of a close game who doesn't make you cringe when the ball goes to them? KLove? Beasley? God help us, Jonny Flynn? Martell? Certainly not Corey Brewer?

It is equal opportunity knucklehead-ism. They are a team that is always, always, afraid it is going to lose. Contrast this to the Twins, who always think they are going to win, or at least have a chance. It's a subtle difference, but real. If you're afraid you're going to lose you get out of balance both physically and mentally. This team begins to pizz in its pants whenever they see something coming up behind them. Something has to change.

Fans can always expect great stats/effort from KLove and a good game from Beasley -after that? Well, the team will have another draft choice to hopefully improve the on-court product and maybe even that kid from Spain! There's always next year, hahahaha.

A double - double shouldn't count when you shoot only 7 for 20.

There was a reason why Jerry Buss never gave Rambis the head coaching job with the Lakers.I remember Del Harris leaving in mid season.Giving Rambis the interim job.It did not work.Instead after the season he hired Rudy T.Who is a better judge of coaching talent then Dr.Buss?Yes.They are young and inexperienced. But why don't they play better defense? That is effort.I don't see it.Give Rambis a few more months. And if things don't turn around. He should be let go.

Now if Rambis can infuse bb smarts into the heads of the players especially Webster and Ridnour. With a 7 point lead Ridnour leads a 5 on 3 break only to turn the ball over; Webster fouls Utah's player on his breakaway dunk to give Utah a 2 possession lead.

Once this team overcomes the sense of late 4th quarter doom it will start to win...and once they have a point guard with bb sense it will start competing on a regular basis.

The Wolves will never be able to win until they start to put a major emphasis on Defense. 41 points in the forth quarter! What a frickin joke! Kahn's master plan is that with an up tempo style of basketball people will come and watch the games regardless of the outcome. Well I can honestly say I have no plans to support this team in any way either by buying tickets or merchandise, until they become more disiplined. Jerry Sloan, granted has a great point guard, but you can see the team disipline when the game matters. You don't see ridiculous turnovers and the offensive systme disinigrate during games, like you see every time you watch the Wolves. Taylor needs to find a Defensive minded coach with a big stick that can mandate a little team disipline.

With the very under-sized and under-talented points we have, its like playing 4 on 5 all night. Ridnour and Flynn can't play any semblance of defense and they are taken out of the defensive stand with a pick EVERY time and outright abused while on D. Plenty of turnovers are a result of not having a serviceable point to run the floor and make good decisions. Once they have a true 5 on 5 squad on the floor, they stand a chance. Flynn couldn't be moved because he has NO value. He's certainly not "the future" as this team always spouts off. Please! We see his play and aren't buying it, and unfortunately, neither are any of the other teams who won't touch his contract!

Kevin Love is the closest thing (Although obviously not as good) as Larry Bird. Kevin was born to be on the Celtics. As the biggest Laker hater on the planet, the Celtics need to find a way to get K. Love and build their team around him and Rondo as their big three are aging. Danny Ainge is a very smart General Manager and should find a way to get K. Love, even if it means trading Glenn Davis and Paul Pierce. Love would flourish playing with Rondo. What an idiot David Khann is for drafting 2 point guards in the first round (Flynn and Rubo) and letting a great shooting guard like the guy on Golden State--forgot his name- get away. That had to be the dumbest draft day ever picking 2 pint sized point guards as the 4th and 6th players drafted. Glenn Taylor, either trade K.Love to Boston OR get rid of Khan and Rambis and start drafting better players!!! I now Khann didn't draft them, but Cory Brewer and Foy instead of Brandon Roy!!!!!!

Does coach get credit for the first 3 quarters? or only the 4th quarter?
Yeah, I thought so.

I'll bet fans and writers only give him credit for the bad quarter. That's the
way it always is, and always will be; and that's too bad.

When do the players take responsibility for stupid plays? at least
Martell Webster came forward. Thanks, Martell, for being a man.

Look at the history of the NBA. Even with players that became superstars,
teams have had to grow into winners. Check it out. Teams with M.J.
Teams with Kobe, etc. Why should the Wolves be held to a higher standard?
The wins will come. Look how they hang with the great teams for 45 minutes.
This is no fluke. They just have to hold together in the last 5 minutes.
I see Darko is still injured. He was being very careful with that ankle all
game and was getting back in transition a little late, treating his leg
gingerly. I just hope he doesn't aggravate it. I know he's coming back too
early, just because he wants to help his mates get over this drought.

But in the postseason, the Twins are just as bad as the Wolves. They are always afraid they are going to lose, and especially pizz in their pants if they see an "NY" on the hats of the opposing team.

Why in the world is Ridnour and Flynn even on this team. Neither are NBA caliber players.
